nicely that I felt very relaxed. The program gave
us an opportunity to understand each other’s’
culture...

VII. Comments from Participants:(Quotes from speech and feedback sheet)
My host family treated me very nicely and taught me anything I don’t know
about. I learned Khmer language from them and they looked very happy
when I spoke Khmer with them. Cambodian people always gave me smiles
and greeted me which made me feel very pleased. I learned that even
communication is very important...
Japanese Students
I leaned many culture differences from the exchange program such as
Cambodian people usually eat out for breakfast. When I have difficulties
having a conversation, I could always express my thoughts by using body. I
also learned the importance of the body language...
Cambodian Students
I gained valuable experiences from both Japan and Cambodia program. The
time passed very quickly and I wished I could have more time to spend with
my partner. I hope we have another chance to have the exchange program
with same members...
During the Cambodian program, I experienced my things from class
experience and homestay with Japanese high school students. I think it is
better if the program was longer. I would like to participate again if there is a
program like the teenage ambassador...
A Japanese teacher
Both Japan and Cambodia program became very valuable experiences for the students.
The courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Sok An,
welcome reception at the Japan Embassy and the homestay, everything was good
experience for them. Even after the program, the students are still contacting each
other so I believe they deepened the relation and became very close friends...
Teachers
A Japanese teacher
The students gained not only friends, but also precious memories from the
program. From the mass and English class experience, they learned how
the lessons are taught in Cambodia. The school was using donated desks
and chair from Hokkai-do that we felt a bond between them...
