Taking care of yourself means more than setting sail on your annual cruise or lyingdown to a weekly back massage. In order to truly take care of yourself you have tostart with the basics. If you can’t control stress, enjoy a good night's sleep, and ifyou are suffering from back pain, then it doesn’t matter where you go or how manytimes someone releases the tension between your shoulder blades. If you are rush-ing around and stuck with the same pile of papers on your desk that is stealingyour precious time, if you walk in the supermarket attempting to buy shaving creamand absent-mindedly walk out with whipped cream, then it doesn’t matter howmany glasses of wine and double lattes you down as you aspire to achieve dailybliss. To truly take care of yourself you may want to pamper yourself with the fol-lowing:

The School Nutrition Association sponsors the Director of the Year Award. This

award recognizes school nutrition directors for the contributions they have made

throughout their school nutrition career. They must be a director and member of

SNA for the past five years, be certified or SNA Credentialed, and have served in

at least one position on the state or national executive board or as a member on a

state or national committee.

The Manager of the Year Award, in Honor of Louise Sub-

lette, is one of the most prestigious awards offered by SNA.

The award recognizes school nutrition managers for the con-

tributions they have made throughout their school nutrition

career.

The award is named in memory of Louise Sublette, a leader

in school nutrition programs in Tennessee and in SNA. During her 43 years in the

profession, she worked with many areas of foodservice and nutrition – public

schools, colleges, hospitals and elderly feeding programs. Her name is given to

this high award because throughout her life, Louise Sublette emphasized that the

success of school nutrition depends upon those professionals who work in school

nutrition programs. Louise Sublette was a Past President of SNA from Tennessee.

The School Nutrition Association sponsors the Employee of the Year Award. This

award recognizes non-managerial school nutrition employees for the contributions

tion education activities in both the cafeteria and the classroom. The Partner in

Education Award is a way to let your school shine and let your peers know the

awesome things you do on a daily basis to promote nutrition education in your

cafeteria. Don’t let all that hard work and creativity go to waste by passing up this

opportunity to promote your school. The Nutrition Committee looks forward an-

positive and optimistic outlook was contagious for those who met her. She was

dedicated to providing healthy meals to students to promote learning.
