Makes 2 drinks

INGREDIENTS: • 2 oz. bourbon • 1 oz. heavy cream • 1 oz. lemon juice • 1 egg white • 1/2 oz. simple syrup • 4 dashes orange bitters • 1 bottle of IZZE Sparkling Blueberry • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, washed

mason jars and smash them up a little with a muddler or a spoon.

• Fill the two mason jars with ice, and then fill your shaker with ice, too.

• Add the bourbon, cream, lemon juice, syrup, bitters and egg white to the shaker.

• Shake for a full minute, or until the shaker is too cold to hold anymore.

• Double strain (use a fine mesh sieve along with your shaker’s strainer) evenly between the two mason jars – this will cause the drink to get extra bubbles. A good thing!

BLUEBERRY VANILLA BEAN

ICE CREAM FLOATS

44

BLUEBERRY VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM FLOATS: ICE CREAM by Alyssa and Carla of Alyssa & Carla

Makes 1 float

ICE CREAM INGREDIENTS: • 2 cups whole milk • 4 tsp. cornstarch • 1 1/2 oz. cream cheese (softened and at room temperature) • 1/8 tsp. sea salt • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream • 1/2 cup sugar • 1 tbsp. honey • 2 tbsp. light corn syrup • 1 tbsp. vanilla bean paste • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

ICE CREAM INSTRUCTIONS: • In a small bowl, measure out about 2 tbsp. of the whole milk and combine with

the cornstarch. Combine well, making a slurry. • Heat the remainder of the milk, cream, sugar, honey and light corn syrup over

medium heat until boiling. Boil for exactly 4 minutes. • Remove from heat and add the cornstarch slurry gradually until blended. • Return to medium heat, bring to a boil and stir for about a minute as the mixture

thickens. Stir in vanilla bean paste and vanilla extract and remove from heat. • In a mixer, whisk the cream cheese and salt together until whipped with no

bumps. Add about 1/2 cup of the hot cream mixture until smooth. Continue adding the hot cream mixture until smooth and combined.

• Remove bowl from the mixer and set aside to cool. Feel free to cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight as Alyssa suggested. Since I didn't have that much time, I submerged my metal mixing bowl into a shallow ice bath. Stirring every minute or two, my mixture cooled in about 15 minutes.

• Add the chilled ice cream mixture to your ice cream maker. Churn for about 25-30 minutes until the ice cream is thoroughly blended and pulling away from the sides of the bowl (about the consistency of a just made milkshake).

• Transfer to a serving container. Cover with parchment paper pressed into the surface and freeze at least 4 to 6 hours (I prefer overnight).

• Whisk to combine the reduced juice and condensed milk.

• Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. • Gently fold heavy cream into the cherry

lime mixture. • Pour the soon-to-be ice cream into a loaf

pan and let freeze 6 hours (preferably overnight).

• To create the floats, just scoop the cherry-lime ice cream into glasses and top with IZZE Sparkling Cherry Lime.

GREEN APPLE TOFFEE PIE-LETS By Kate van Geldern of Domestikated Life

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. • Peel and thinly slice apples, add to a small sauce pan

with butter, sugar, spices and a pinch of sea salt. • Let the apple mixture combine over medium heat until

apples just begin to soften. Set aside and cool. • Roll out pie dough on a floured surface. • Place 2 tbsp. of apple mixture in the center of the pie

circles, leaving 1” diameter around the edge. Repeat with half of the remaining pie pieces.

• Top all of the pie bottoms with sprinkled toffee bits and then add second piece of pie rounds to the top (consider cutting out a cute shape at the top for decoration).

• Seal the edges of the top and bottom crusts by rolling the edges in and crimping with your fingers or a fork.

• Sprinkle with more toffee bits and using a pastry brush, brush on egg white wash.

• Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. • Serve while warm with some IZZE Sparkling Apple.

APPLE DONUTS by Rebekah Hubbard of PDXFoodLove

INGREDIENTS: • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil • 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp. IZZE Sparkling Apple • 1/4 cup sugar • 1 egg • 2 Tbsp. honey • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour • 1/2 cup AP flour • 1 tsp. baking powder • heavy pinch of kosher salt • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon • 1/8 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg • For the glaze: • 3/4 cup powdered sugar • 1 tbsp. IZZE Sparkling Apple

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. • In one bowl, whisk together the oil, apple juice, sugar, egg and honey. • In a larger bowl, lightly stir together the flours, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. • Add the liquids to the solids and stir until just combined. • Spray a donut pan with nonstick spray and spoon the mixture in (it should make around 6 donuts). • Bake the donuts for 2 minutes at 425 degrees, then turn the heat down to 400 and bake for

another five minutes. I know that seems short, but it's enough! Afterwards, allow to rest in the pan for ten minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

• When the donuts are cool, whisk together the sugar and apple juice for the glaze. Adjust the thickness to your liking - just remember that if it's too runny, it will drip right off the side of the donut. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
