Fabrication, assembly, installation and commissioning of support structure forReflectometer waveguides for Aditya-U at IPR
Introduction: The Reflectometer consists of four rectangular copper waveguides and antennae.These waveguides are supported in a bracket in two rows and two columns. The brackets are tobe mounted on the support platform. The brackets are already fabricated. The system will facethe viewport no. 7 in Aditya tokamak as shown in drawing (Annexure I).
Scope of work:
The scope of work comprises of fabrication, assembly, installation, testing and commissioning ofthe support structure of Reflectometer at Aditya site.
Drawing details:
Support structure for reflectometer consists of attached drawings. (Annexure II)
No major modifications in the drawings/design are permitted except in case where it is necessaryto facilitate manufacturing, assembly, testing or erection, provided such changes do not impairthe function, accuracy and strength of the components. Such modifications must be approved byIPR before fabrication.
If any drawing is generated for fabrication purpose, it should be approved by IPR, only then itshould be used for fabrication purpose.
Critical parameters:
a) The center of the brackets should match the center of the view port.
b) The alignment must be such that the plane of view port should be perpendicular to the waveguides.
c) Support structure must be electrically isolated from the false floor in Aditya U hall.
d) Height of the support structure must be adjustable to allow perfect alignment.
e) The support structure must be removable easily and re-installable without expert help.
Fabrication: The fabrication is to be done as per the drawings. (Annexure II). Slots in part 4 ofdwg IPR/A3/17/WGS/8059 5of 6 must be made using EDM wire cut process and the electro-polished such that the slots shown are perfectly smooth.

Assembly/Installation:
The assembly of the reflectometer on the support structure in Aditya U hall has to be done by thevendor on site at IPR as per the drawings. (Annexure III).
Vendor will be responsible for assembly of the system shown in Annexure IV, waveguides andthe acrylic brackets will be provided on site by IPR.
ALL the nuts and bolts used must be of SS304 material.
In case the Aditya-U Operations are on, then installation/assembly work will have to becompleted in coordination with Aditya-U Operations group and may have to be conducted inweekends/after office hours/holidays. Any delay arising out of this will be in addition to thestipulated completion times.
Inspection/Acceptance tests: at vendor site & at IPR
1. The fabrication drawings should be approved by IPR prior to commencement of fabrication.
2. All the individual components shall be inspected for its dimensional requirements,assembly requirements and performance requirements as per the drawings andspecifications.
3. Material composition certificate of non-magnetic SS304 must be provided.
4. Acceptance tests for dimensional accuracy and functional compatibility of eachcomponent would be checked by IPR representative. Final acceptance tests would be onthe basis of commissioning of the system at site.
In case IPR finds any problem during the final commissioning and acceptance tests atIPR site, the vendor would be required to solve the problems free of charge immediately.Final acceptance will be only after successful testing at IPR site. All fasteners along withspecifications and other details should be included in the offer. This should include boltsand essential accessories for erection and commissioning. IPR will not provide ANYmaterial except the acrylic brackets to be installed on the platform.
Commissioning: The support structure has to be erected during commissioning in a cleanlaboratory floor. The erection of support pillars would be by bolting the baseplate to a platewhich has to be welded on the beam structure below the false floor. Vendors are encouraged tovisit the site before submitting the quotation.
Delivery Period: The delivery period will be three (3) weeks after placing the final order.
Transportation: Proper packing of the support structure should be done so that it does not get damaged during transportation.
Warranty: one year for poor workman ship and any material defect.
