    Indian Welding Society (IWS), the leading professional body in this part of the

    world is dedicated for the cause of welding in the country.

    IWS, registered under societies act, has its headquarters at New Delhi and

    serves the welding fraternity since its inception in 2002.

    In its 11 years of existence, IWS has conducted more than 80 conferences /

    seminars / workshops in welding and allied areas. It has trained over 800 fresh

    engineers, 1500 practicing engineers & supervisors, through its courses.

    IWS is disseminating the knowledge in welding through its 15 centres and five

    zones spread across the country. In the shortest span it has enrolled more than

    1100 life members and has close interaction with DVS, German Welding

    Society, Messe Essen, Messe Dusseldorf India, Singapore Welding Society,

    IL & FS, DST, CII and educational institutions like IIVET, IGNOU, IITS, NITs,

    Periyar Maniammai University, VIT University, CEMAJOR, CIT, JSS group,

    Y P Patel CE, SLIET, SRATI and so on. It is one of the founder members of

    Asian Welding Federation.

    The society recognises and appreciates the services of researchers,

    technologists, academicians and industrialists by conferring various awards.

    MainObjectivesofIWS

    To promote the advancement of Welding, Cutting, Reclamation, HardFacing and related technologies and other Allied sciences.

    To facilitate exchange of ideas, information, development work, etc.amongst members; by organising lectures, workshops, seminars,symposia, conferences and development programmes; publishperiodicals, books, journals and magazines; and develop software and

    educational programmes, video films and training packages relatingto the objectives of the society.

    To offer flexible class room / distance learning programmes in variousaspects of welding & related technology that suit the requirement ofvarious levels.

    To promote professional exchange of information, experience andadvanced training within and among various countries across the globe.

    To give awards, scholarships, fellowships and grants to individuals / teamsof professionals and organisations in regard to specific projects in variousspheres of welding & related technology directly or in association withother professional organisations having similar objectives.
