Italian Premiere Voting Member of CIA IMC - BANDO DI CONCORSO L’Associazione Culturale IAC (ITALIAN ACCORDION CULTURE) in partnership with Edizioni Musicali e Discografiche ARS SPOLETIUM s.r.l. organizes the IV Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Città di Spoleto” (18 - 22 May 2016) GENERAL COMPETITION RULES 1) The International Piano Competition “Città di Spoleto” is open to musicians of all nationalities. 2) The International Piano Competition “Città di Spoleto” is divided into 2 different prizes: A) Premio Pianistico Internazionale “Città di Spoleto” B) Concorso Pianistico Internazionale “Città di Spoleto” (categorie) 3) Travelling and accommodation will be at the competitor’s expense. Hotels and hostels will offer the competitors special rates. 4) The competition will take place in PALAZZO LETI SANSI in Spoleto from 18 to 22 May 2016 and the competitors must check-in at the competition secretary’s office with their identity documents. The organisers will inform competitors with information regarding the date and time of the first convocation and the rehearsal timetable (available from 10th May 2016). 5) The auditions will be public and follow an alphabetical sequence. 6) Duplicate copies of the pieces to be performed must be handed to the invigilator before the beginning of the audition. Simplification of the music is not permitted.

1) The International Piano Competition “Città di Spoleto” is open to musicians of allnationalities.

The curriculum of the masters will bevisible on the site www.strumentiemusica.com

The organisers are not responsible for any unforeseen changes to the members of thejury. Competitors should not have had any previous didactic relationship to jurors withinthe last 2 years. If a jury member currently has or has had a didactic relationship witha competitor in the last 2 years, they will not be allowed to vote. The abstention willbe written in the jury’s report. At the moment of their assignment, each member shouldissue a statement about any personal relationship with any competitor, as describedabove.

8) The jury may halt an audition should the time limit specified in the Rules and Regulationsbe exceeded. The jury may request a second performance from competitors in orderto vote.

9) The jury’s decisions are final and definitive.

10) The result will be published on the notice board at the end of voting. The jury maydecide to award ex aequo placings or, if the competitor did not meet with or observeall requirements, not to present any award at all.

11) The organisers will provide a piano for each competition. Practice rooms with a pianowill be available.

12) Winners must perform (otherwise they will lose their prize and title) for the InternationalPiano Competition “Città di Spoleto” Gala Event at TEATRO CAIO MELISSO on 22nd

May 2016 at 5 p.m. A participation certificate will be always available if requestedfrom the competition office.

13) Closing date for entry is 2nd May 2016 and must include the entry form (downloadablefrom the website www.strumentiemusica.com). In case of any difficulty with this,attached applications may also be sent by mail to: ACCORDION CULTURE – ViaLorenzo Betti, 24 – 06049 Spoleto (PG), always until 2nd May.

• Receipt of the payment of entry fee. Payment receipt must state competitor’s name (self-declaration in case of online registration).

Any entry form with errors or omissions may be excluded.

14) Entry fees, net of postage or bank expenses, cannot be refunded except in the unlikelycase that the competition is cancelled or if a category is cancelled due to cases offorce majeure, as defined at the registration.

16) Foreign competitors may enquire regarding different methods of payment in order tosave international transfer costs.

17) Musicians can apply to perform in both Competitions.

18) Competitors must approve of the recording, filming and broadcasting without expectingany monetary recompense.

19) Applicants must allow the access to their personal data according to the legislativedecree 196/03.

20) Should the organisers need to make changes to the Rules and Regulations they willinform the candidates immediately.

21) The organisers do not assume any responsibility for risks, or damage of any kind thatinvolves competitors, escorts and materials during the course of the competition andany demonstrations related to the Contest.

22) In case of dispute, the only legally binding text is the original one in Italian.

23) Contestants must be in acceptance all Rules and Regulations.

The Premio Pianistico Internazionale “Città Di Spoleto” is divided into a Eliminatory stage,a semi-final stage and a Final Stage.

PPRROOGGRRAAMMMMEE OOFF TTHHEE TTHHRREEEE RROOUUNNDDSSEELLIIMMIINNAATTOORRYY SSTTAAGGEE

Free programme. Maximum duration: 15 minutes, including at least a study of Clementi,Chopin, Rachmaninov, Skriabin, Liszt, Saint-Säens, Ljapunov, Prokofiev, Ligeti.

SSEEMMII--FFIINNAALL SSTTAAGGEE

Free programme. Maximum duration: 30 minutes including:- The first movement of a Sonata by any of the following: Clementi, Mozart, Beethoven o Schubert.

- An important composition from the 19th Century- An important composition from the 20th Century

Pieces played during the Eliminatory Stage may not be performed again in the Semi-finalStage.

FFIINNAALL SSTTAAGGEE

Free programme. Maximum duration 45 minutes including at least, a complete sonataplayed in the semi-final Stage. In the final Stage, (except for the sonata), any piece playedin the previous rounds may not be performed.

RRAANNKKIINNGGAs in the International Eliminatory Stage and Semi-final Stage of “Premio PianisticoInternazionale Città di Spoleto”, at the end of Eliminatory Stage and Semi-final Stage,the jury will communicate the qualification of candidates for the next round. Final decisionswill be reached by excluding the highest and the lowest mark and then calculating theaverage score between all the remaining judges’ votes.First, second and third place will go to competitors with the highest score and this shouldbe not less than 95/100, 90/100 e 85/100 respectively.The prizes that may not have been awarded, should there be any, will also be taken intoconsideration when determining the final rankings.

• The awards will take place at the end of each category. All awards will be presentedthen except to the winners or the best qualified in the all categories, who will participateat the Final Concert (as specify in the Art. 12 of Rules and Regulations)
