Install and configure ET-MFX12 boards in the RNC The ET-MFX board is the key product to be installed in

the RNC in order to handle Iub traffic over IP For Installing the ET-MFX boards in the RNC confirm

that the following prerequisites are fulfilled

– ET-MFX12 boards are available

– RNC is Hardware R4 or higher

– The RNC has available slots for installing the new ET-MFX12 boards, Extension subrack preferred

– The RNC is running P6 software

Install and configure ET-MFX12 boards in the RNC

– The appropriate cable kits and applicable ICF connections plates are available

– A Thin Client configured to run EMAS

– Java 1.4.2_8 or higher is installed on the Thin Client

– Mo and/or BCT configuration scripts are available and prepared according to network IP address plan

– OSS R5.3 up and running in case of BCT files are used

Install and configure ET-MFX11 boards in the RBS The procedure to configure the ET-MFX11 board in the

RBS will be done using the following steps:

1. Using EMAS Modify RBS Equipment Configuration for running a local xml script file to configure the Ethernet Ports.

2. Create User Plan objects.3. Create Control Plan objects.4. Add the NTP Synchronization server reference.5. Create a Configuration Version.

Steps 2 to 4 can be done with mo scripts and EMAS or BCT files using OSS.

Test IP connectivity after the migration RNC towards RBS

– To test RBS user plane and SNTP synchronization client use the ping() action of the IpAccessHostEt MO.

– To test RBS control plane, use the command ipac_ping on Central MP. Remember that the RNC control plane IP, must be the one handling the respective Iub link.

Test IP connectivity after the migration RBS towards RNC

– To confirm the SNTP synchronization server check status of the attribute syncStatus in the IpSyncRef MO. The ipac_ipsyncref or nssinfo on MP will give a status of the synchronization.

– To test the RNC user plane IP address, use the ping() action of the IpAccessHostEt MO.

– To test the RNC control plane, use the ipac_ping command on MP. When testing the connectivity at the control plane level, the destination IP address must be the IP address of the MP that handles the Iub link of the node.
