AGC works continuously to correct for localized attenuationand enhancement variations not accounted for by Time GainCompensation (TGC). AGC does not control overall gain orcompression. iSCAN is an automated image optimization process usinguser-available controls (gain, TGC, compression). iSCANoptimizes the image each time the Iscan button ispressed. The purpose of iSCAN is global imageoptimization.
AGC is a signal processing technique that dynamicallyadjusts the gain of every sample in real time. AGC runscontinuously when activated. The purpose of AGC isdynamic correction of localized gain artifacts.
