Cutting and PreparationNote: If using fusible applique techniques, trace the template shapes onto the paper side of fusible web. Fuse onto the indicated fabric and cut out.
From Fabric A, cut:One 4” x 22” strip; subcut into two 4” x 5-1/2” pieces
One 2-3/4” x 22” strip; subcut into two 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” pieces
From Fabric B, cut:Two 2-1/2” x 22” strips; subcut into �ve 2-1/2” x 5” pieces
From Fabric C yardage, cut: Five 2-1/4” x WOF strips for binding
From Fabric C fat quarter, cut:Two 1“ x 22” strips; subcut into �ve 1” x 6-1/2” pieces
From Fabric D, cut:One 5-1/2” x 22” strip; subcut into four 1-1/2“ x 5-1/2” pieces and �ve 2” x 5” pieces
One 2-3/4” x 22” strip; subcut into three 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” pieces

Make the Pieced Left Column 1. Sew together one 2” x 5” D piece, one 3” x 5” I piece, one 1-1/2” x 5” L piece and one 4-1/2” x 5” G piece to make block #1 as shown. Make a total of �ve 9-1/2” x 5” blocks.
2. Sew together one 4” x 5” J piece, one 3” x 5” H piece, one 1-1/2” x 5” L piece and one 2-1/2” x 5” B piece to make block #2 as shown. Make a total of �ve 9-1/2” x 5” blocks.
3. Referring to the Quilt Assembly Diagram on p. 4, sew the #1 and #2 blocks together into the left pieced column.
Make the Pieced Middle Column 1. Sew one 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” D piece and one 2-1/4” x 6-1/2” G piece lengthwise to opposite sides of one 1” x 6-1/2” C piece to make block #3 as shown. Make a total of three 6-1/2” x 5” blocks.
2. In the same way, sew one 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” A piece and one 2-1/4” x 6-1/2” G piece lengthwise to opposite sides of one 1” x 6-1/2” C piece to make block #4 as shown. Make a total of two 6-1/2” x 5” blocks.
3. Sew one 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” F piece and one 1-7/8” x 6-1/2” H piece lengthwise to opposite sides of one 1-3/8” x 6-1/2” I piece to make block #5 as shown. Make a total of four 6-1/2” x 5” blocks.
4. Referring to the Quilt Assembly Diagram on p. 4, sew the #3, #4, and #5 blocks together into the middle pieced column. Add one 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” I piece to the top and one 2-3/4” x 6-1/2” H piece to the bottom.
Make the Pieced Right Column 1. Sew together one 4” x 5-1/2” I piece, one 2-1/2” x 5-1/2” E piece and one 2” x 5-1/2” G piece as shown to make block #6 as shown. Make a total of three 7-1/2” x 5-1/2” blocks.
2. In the same way, sew together one 4” x 5-1/2” A piece, one 2-1/2” x 5-1/2” G piece and one 2” x 5-1/2” K piece as shown to make block #7 as shown. Make a total of two7-1/2” x 5-1/2” blocks.
3. Sew together one 2-1/4” x 5-1/2” J piece, one 1-3/4” x 5-1/2” F piece, one 1-1/2” x 5-1/2” D piece and one 3-1/2” x 5-1/2” H piece as shown to make block #8 as shown. Make a total of four 7-1/2” x 5-1/2” blocks.

4. Referring to the Quilt Assembly Diagram on p. 4, sew the #6, #7 and #8 blocks together into the right pieced column.
Assemble the Quilt 1. Sew the two 7-1/2” x WOF F strips short ends together into a long strip. Trim strip to measure 45-1/2“ long. In the same manner, make one 6-1/2” x 45-1/2“ F strip. 2. Referring to the Quilt Layout Diagram, sew together the three pieced columns alternating
with one 7-1/2” x 45-1/2“ F strip and one 6-1/2” x 45-1/2“ F strip to complete the quilt top. 3. Referring to the quilt image on the cover for placement, add the spider applique pieces using your preferred technique.
FinishingLay the backing right side down, batting, and quilttop right side up. Baste the layers together andquilt as desired. Use the �ve 2-1/4” x WOF Fabric C strips to bind the quilt.

If needed, trim spider hanging string to same width as 1/4” C strip. Trim 1/4” strip to desired length for spider string. Over-
lap long string and top of spider tem-plate to create the full hanging string.
