ITM Placements
The Career Guidance and Placements Team (CGPT) welcomes all students to take an active part in
the Placement Process organized by the Institute. Our Institute, ITM Business School, Kharghar
assigns considerable importance to the Placement Process and ensures that all students get the
required support and opportunity to pursue their chosen career path.
The CGP Team consists of

The Career Guidance and Placement Student’s Team
The decisions taken by the above CGPT would be final and all students will be bound by the policies
mentioned below.

Placement calendar:
The process of calling companies for pre-placement talks will start by September
Companies will come onto campus for their pre-placement presentations by the end of
October and the process will go on upto the month of January
Final placement process will start by mid October and Summer Placements will start by the
first week of December
Note: These dates are tentative and subject to change.

CLAUSE 1.0:-Summer Internship Placement (SIP)
For summer placement: Every student has to abide by the placement policies drafted by CGPT.
1. Those students availing summer placement from college have to sign a declaration stating
that he/she will be present for all placement processes. (no withdrawals will be entertained
after the final selection process)
2. Any student withdrawing would be debarred from further SIP process.
3. Any student, who gets an offer of SIP from a company that has come to campus, has to
mandatorily accept the offer irrespective of other options available to him/her. Failing which,
the student is liable to be debarred from placement in certain companies or from the whole
final placement process, at the sole discretion of the Core team.
4. For those students who are trying for summer internship on their own; the Offer Letter given
by the company should be sent both in the form of a hard copy as well as a soft copy to the
placement team by the last week of April.
5. For those students who fail to submit their joining letter by the last week of May, marks would
be deducted from their internal assessment.
6. For those students who fail to submit the confidential report on time as mentioned in the
Summer internship kit, marks would be deducted from their internal assessment.
7. If a student has been offered a PPO, the company must intimate the Institute at the earliest,
correspondence must be routed through the placement team.
8. Any student leaving the placement room/venue during the selection process must inform the
placement coordinator and mention the expected time of return.

CLAUSE 2.0:- Final Placement
The minimum CTC (Salary + Benefits + Incentives) that any company that comes onto campus must
offer
Slab for Fresher’s: 3.5 Lakhs (Reputed firms offering a salary lower than the band mentioned will
be dealt with by the Director on a case to case basis)
Slab for Lateral: 4 – 4.5 Lakhs (At least two years full time relevant work experience excludes
self employed individuals and businessmen)
Each student will be allowed to sit for 15 Group Discussions (G.D) and 7 Personal Interviews (P.I),
whichever is earlier. If at any point , a student is given an offer by a company, he/she will no
longer be a part of the placement process
If the company feels that the students are deliberately underperforming , then the decision of
allowing the student to continue with the placement process rests solely with the CGPT
If a situation arises wherein the company has written tests or any other assessment as a part of
their placement procedure, then the decision would be taken on a case to case basis by the
Director.
One offer per student (Exceptions at the discretion of the Director and Dy. Directors)
A student can sit for pre-placement talks of several companies, but once a student shows an
interest in the firm and enters the selection process (Written Test/ GD/PI/ Assessment Centers)
he/she can no longer withdraw from the selection process
CLAUSE 2.1:- Screening of Resumes
In most of the cases, the screening of resumes is done by the company, but incase a company
requests the Placement Team to take charge of this process, criteria for screening will based on work
experience and merit.
A student must have the following requirements to be screened on the basis of merit:
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
1. Post Graduate Program
A. Min CGPA of 2.4
B. Backlogs need to be cleared before appearing for the placement process
C. Attendance must be 75%
2. Relevant Work Experience and Summer Project relevance
CLAUSE 2.2:-Rule on offers made
1. No student would be allowed to rejoin the placement process if he/she has resigned or been
terminated from the company for any reason within the final placement window period.

2. Off campus offer
- Pre-convocation: No student is allowed to apply to companies that have come to campus, or are
planning to visit our campus (list of companies visiting our campus will be displayed in the
Placement Calendar) through their personal contacts, in such a case their Degrees will be
withheld
- Post convocation: A student can apply to a company that has visited the campus post the
convocation ceremony
Attendance will be given to the student sitting for SIP and final placement process, for which
student has to approach the concerned placement officers strictly on the day of the process.
CLAUSE 2.3:-Pre-placement offers
All PPO’s should be routed through CGPT.
1. Students who have accepted PPO’s should submit a copy of the offer letter to CGPT for record
and then they would no longer be a part of the placement process.
2. For any reason, if the student wants to reject the PPO through the official college summer
internship process, he/she should seek permission by submitting a letter to the Director, ITM
Kharghar, giving reasons for the rejection. The final decision regarding the same would be
taken by the Director himself.
3. PG & GLC Students must request their respective companies to disclose their PPO offer latest
by 5th September.
4. Students who have been placed through college will be allowed to work only at the sole
discretion of the management.

CLAUSE 3.0:-General Discipline and Code of Conduct
The guidelines put under clause 3.0 is applicable to all students who appear for both summer as well
as final placement process. Failure to abide by them will automatically lead to penalties as mentioned
in Clause 3.1 of the placement policy document.
CLAUSE 3.1:-Penalty for failure to abide by the rules and regulations laid in the
placement policy
A student who has given his name for a company and gets “short-listed” but does not turn up without
prior approval of the placement team will face debarment from participating in the selection process
of his/her next available 3 companies visiting the campus
This policy holds applicable to both summer internship as well as final placement process.
The final decision in this regard would be taken by the Director of the Institute and would be deemed
final and non-questionable.
CLAUSE 3.2:-Discipline
Students must abide by all the policies of the placement policy document.
1. Everyone must carry 2 copies of Resume (Institute’s format) both updated and printed during
the placement season.
2. Each student is obliged to follow the dress code mentioned in page no. 9 of the policy
document every time he/she sits for a placement process.
3. Students must report 30 minutes before the stipulated time. Non- adherence of the same will
not be entertained.
4. Updated information should be taken from CGPT only.
5. Students are expected to cooperate with Placement Team coordinators throughout the
placement process.
6. Students sitting for the placement process will not be allowed to loiter around in the campus.
They will have to sit in the assigned area only.
7. Students are expected to maintain discipline on campus, failing which strict action will be
taken on the grounds of discipline and code of conduct.

CLAUSE 3.3:-Dress Code Policy
It is compulsory to wear ITM Formals for all students irrespective of the stage of the selection process
they are undergoing, including pre-placement talk.
CLAUSE 3.3(a):-Clothing
1. Dress conservatively for interviews and avoid bright, flashy colors and patterns.
2. Check your outfit for holes, tears, stains, scuffs or wrinkles and polish your shoes
CLAUSE 3.3(b):-Accessories
1. Keep jewellery to a minimum. Avoid jewellery that distractively jingles or swings when you
move.
2. If you usually wear facial jewellery (e.g., on your nose, tongue or eyebrows), remove all of it
before interviews.
CLAUSE 3.3(c):-Practice good hygiene:
1. Look presentable.
2. Avoid wearing strong perfume or cologne.
3. Empty your pockets of bulging items, such as mobile phones and coins.
4. Tone down the use of makeup & hair spray.
CLAUSE 3.3(d):-Some important tips:
1. Carry a well maintained file or a small briefcase for your documents.
2. Carry your paperwork (2 copies of your updated resume, 2 Photostat copies of all your
important certificates, reference list, letters of recommendation, job-application information,
etc.)
3. Do not forget to carry a pen and notepad along with you.

CLAUSE 4.0:-Mandatory Disclosures
Students are required to check the Placement Notice Board & their email ids regularly for
information updates. For any lapses on the student’s side, the CGPT will not be held
responsible.
Students are advised to be on campus during CAMPUS PLACEMENT SEASON.
The CGPT coordinates the placement activities (SIP and Final) for the respective programmes.
Every effort will be made to facilitate the placement process. However ITM BUSINESS
SCHOOL– reserves the right to change or modify the guidelines in the best interest of
students.
Mails to be circulated only by placement team leads, no other student is authorized to
circulate any mails pertaining to placements, both internally and externally. Violation of this
rule will lead to strict disciplinary action on the student by CGPT.
CV submitted after deadline will not be accepted.
CGPT reserves its right to take any disciplinary action, if students do not honor policies laid
down by the CGPT or resort to unethical behavior. However in extreme cases, the final
decision as to the nature of penalty that should be imposed, will be upto the discretion of
Director ITM Business School.
Placement information is confidential and any breach of confidentiality will leads to strict
action.
Students who wish to drop out of the Placement Process are expected to notify the placement
office immediately.
For students who have received off-campus offer letters for summer / final placements, it is
mandatory to inform in writing about the same to CGPT at the earliest.
Students need to positively clarify all doubts pertaining to profile / salary / location / third
party recruitment / bond / security deposit / probation period / group company recruitment
etc in detail during Pre Placement Talk itself. No one-on-one correspondence with the
organization of any sort, other than the one during interview, would be entertained.
If a student is found to be purposely performing below par in an interview purposely, is
bound to face disciplinary action as deemed fit by the CGPT.
The above guidelines are applicable to all fulltime PGDM students of ITM Business School. CGPT
reserves right to expel any student found violating these guidelines from the Placement process.

Declaration by the student:

terms and conditions carefully and those terms and conditions including procedures of the document
are acceptable to me. I confirm that I have fully understood the rules and regulations of placement
process of the institute.

consequences in case of breach of the terms and conditions of the document.
