This is a classic safari at its ultimate, with offerings of twice-daily

guided game drives, night drives, and bush walks within the seclusion

yet another highlight. Your Masai Mara experiences will be beautifully

counterpointed by the lush forest setting of the UNESCO World

Heritage Site, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This region, the

country’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest jungle, is over

25 000 years old. An environment coloured by butterflies, birds,

orchids, tree ferns, and waterfalls, it’s a primate-heaven, and home to

about 320 mountain gorillas, almost half of the world’s remaining wild

to Wilson Airport in time for your flight to Masai Mara Airstrip.

Day 5 - 7

This morning, after a delicious breakfast, an &Beyond

representative will meet you, and take you to your scheduled

flight from Masai Mara Airstrip to Entebbe International

Airport via Kisumu for custom.

At Entebbe International Airport you will make your way to

the domestic departures were you will board your flight to

Kihihi Airstrip. Kihihi lies on the borders of the Bwindi

Impenetrable Forest which is home to half the world’s

remaining population of critically endangered mountain

gorilla. You will be collected from Kihihi Airstrip and driven to

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp.

Enjoy 3 nights at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp in a Tent with

ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes all meals, laundry,

community walk, concession fees and all beverages (alcoholic

or non-alcoholic with the exception of champagne & premium

brands)

Tuck in to a hearty breakfast overlooking the majestic mist-

covered slope of the mountain. Soak up the anticipation as

the guide briefs and the trekkers get ready then follow in the

light steps of your nimble porter as the rainforest folds in

around you. Stop and take it all in; the sounds, the smells and

the astonishing scenery. Feel the rush of excitement as those

dim shapes and faint sounds become actual living, breathing,

free gorillas. Savour every moment of your exhilarating

encounter with the great apes. Walk tired and exhilarated

back to the lodge for a hero’s welcome. Sink into a

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp


Set on a flat ridge deep within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest,

Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is a remote and atmospheric

mountain sanctuary. The only accommodation located within

the national park, the camp boasts an unrivalled location with

exceptional wildlife and birdlife viewing opportunities. Eight

tents feature queen sized beds and generous bathtubs that

look out onto the forest canopy.

Guests can sample delicious fare or enjoy an evening drink in

the cosy bar and dining cottage overlooking the rainforest. In

fine weather, meals are served al fresco on a raised natural

platform that blends into the surroundings. A small gift shop

offers a selection of locally sourced handcrafts. Forests walks

to Munyaga waterfall, as well as an interactive community

visit are included, while gorilla trekking and birding walks can

be arranged at an additional cost.

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT SANCTUARY GORILLA FOREST CAMP

Watch out for the family of gorillas that visits the

camp four to six times per month.

After a long day of gorilla trekking, soak your tired

muscles in the deep bathtub and gaze out onto a

spectacular view of the forest as you relive the day’s

adventures.

Sample the local banana beer and learn how to pluck

tea leaves as you visit the local community.

The Government of Uganda has introduced an online visa application system. Guests intending to visit Uganda for

tourism-purposes are required to apply and obtain a visa online: https://visas.immigration.go.ug/.

We have a separate document detailing more information on how-to apply – please advise us if you need this. Single

entry tourist visas are available at a cost of $50 (reduced from $100 on 22 July 2016), and East African tourist visas

(between Uganda | Rwanda | Kenya) are available at a cost of $100.

Gorilla Trekking subject to availability of permits at time of booking – payment of permit price may be required to

secure permit.

Gorilla permits cannot be held/secured/booked with the Uganda Wildlife Authority or the Rwanda.

Development Board in advance of payment – they are only secured once physically paid for. We can check availability of

permits but we cannot hold them.

We will invoice for the permits, and as soon as the funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.

Gorilla permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable.

In Uganda, please be advised that if clients are staying at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, we shall endeavour to buy

Nkuringo Gorilla group permits – the Nkuringo group tracking start point is close to the Lodge.

If at the time of booking, Nkuringo group permits are not available, we shall secure permits from the Rushaga group

(encompassing the Nshongi, Mishaya, Busingye, Kahungye and Bweza Families) which is a 45 – 60-minute drive from

Clouds.

There is an additional cost of approximately $188 (per vehicle) which transfers guests to the tracking start point, waits

and returns them to the Lodge.

Single supplement only refers to the single room supplement.

Single traveller supplement will be quoted on request.



There is a minimum age limit for gorilla trekking which is strictly 15 years.

Validity periods are as specified above - should a booking fall over two rate periods the rate will change and we reserve

the right to re-quote.

The rates quoted are subject to change without prior warning if there are any increases in bed levies, park fees, fuel,

sales tax or VAT, third-party services or any other circumstances beyond our control in the countries featured in this
