ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONSPlease note: Your 100 Series Snow Cab is designed to work with the CargO Mount™ system on 100 Series John Deere riding mowers.

NOTE: If your riding mower is fitted with a front end attachment (such as snow throwers or blowers), you will need to install the included control arm bracket [G]. See page 5.

INSTALL THE FRONT MOUNTING BRACKET1. Lift the hood of your riding mower. Loosen the pre-existing CargO Mount™ screws in the bottom holes on the side of the cowling with a #T25 Torx wrench (not included). Loosen until the head of the screw is about 1/4" above the surface of the cowling. (Fig. 1a)

2. Orient the front mounting bracket [B] toward the front of the riding mower. On the bottom of the front mounting bracket top bar there are two protruding studs. On the lower bars of the front mounting bracket there are angled slots. The slots should face down and toward the rear of the riding mower.

Position the front mounting bracket so that the studs slide into the CargO Mount™ holes found on the top of your riding mower. Slide the slotted lower bars between the outer cowling wall and the cowling screw head. (Fig. 1b)

3. Working inside the engine cowling area of your riding mower, insert the front mounting clevis pins [C] UP through the holes on the mounting bracket and riding mower. Slip an M6 fender washer [D] over each clevis pin end and insert a locking pin [E] through the hole on the end of the pin. Finish by threading an M5 Nylock hex nut [F] onto the ends of BOTH cowling screws on the inside of the cowling. Tighten screws with a #T25 Torx wrench (not included) and a crescent, box or socket wrench. (Fig. 1b)

4. If using the included control arm bracket [G], before inserting a clevis pin through the LEFT hole on the front mounting bracket [B], position the control arm bracket as shown and attach with the M5 12mm Button Flange Screw [H] and M5 Nylock Hex Nut [F] using the 3mm Hex Wrench [A]. (Fig. 2)

Insert the clevis pin through the mounting hole in the control arm bracket [G] and into the top hole of the front mounting bracket [B]. You may have to push or pull the front mounting bracket to line up the holes in the bracket with the holes on the side of the riding mower. (Fig. 3)

Finish by securing the clevis pins [C] and cowling screws as in step 3.

INSTALL THE REAR MOUNTING BRACKET

The rear mounting bracket [J] installs into the pre-existing CargO Mount™ holes behind the seat on the rear deck of your riding mower. (Fig. 4)

5. Insert the protruding bolts of the rear mounting bracket [J] into the mounting holes on your riding mower. Position the bracket so the ends flare back and out to the sides of the rear of the riding mower. (Fig. 4)

6. Working from beneath the rear fender of your mower, slide a rear bracket wedge [K] on to one of the protruding bolts of the rear mounting bracket [J] taking care to match the angle of the wedge to the angle of the bolt sleeve on the rear bracket. While holding the wedge in place, slide an M8 fender washer [L] over the bolt end and thread on an M8 Nylock nut [M]. Leave finger tight. (Fig. 5)

7. Finish by inserting the remaining rear bracket wedge [K] over the remaining protruding bolt end in the same manner. Tighten both nuts with a crescent, box or socket wrench.

10

The rear sub-assembly consists of attaching the back uprights [PL, PR] to the rear mounting bracket [J].

10. Line up the back uprights [PL, PR] so that the spring push buttons in the bottom ends match up with the holes in the receiver tubes on the rear mounting bracket [J]. Insert the back uprights into the receiver tubes until the spring push buttons click into the holes. Repeat on the other side. (Fig. 7)

When properly installed the rear mounting bracket and the uprights should curve up and away from the back of the riding mower.

Rear Sub-Assembly

The roof sub-assembly consists of attaching the top frames [QL, QR] to the top ribs [R1, R2, R3]. (Fig. 8)

11. Insert the front ribs [R1, R2, R3] into both top frames [QR, QL]. Each top frame has three short protruding tube stubs on one side. These stubs on the top frames should face each other when properly assembled. Secure by inserting the ribs into the protruding tube stubs until the spring push buttons click into the holes.

11

12. To complete the frame assembly, attach the roof sub-assembly to the front and rear uprights. (Fig. 9)

The front of the roof sub-assembly has two shallow sloping ends. The rear of the roof sub-assembly has right angle bends near the ends. Make sure to orient the front of the roof sub-assembly with the front uprights for assembly.

Lift the roof sub-assembly and loosely insert the front end of the right top frame [QR] into the top of the right front upright [NR] first. Continue with left top frame [QL] and the left front upright [NL]. Next, connect rear end of the right top frame [QR] into the top of the right back upright [PR]. Last, connect the rear end of the left top frame [QL] into the top end of the left back upright [PL]. Insert the ends until the spring push buttons click into the holes in the top frames. It may be necessary to tap on the roof sub-assembly with a rubber mallet to get the spring push buttons to properly engage.

INSTALL THE SNOW CAB SHELL OVER THE FRAME

13. Install the adhesive backed 12" rip-and-grip strip [S] to the center underside on the edge of the cowling. Install the adhesive backed 2.5" strips of rip-and-grip [T] to the back side of the steel flanges located where the motor cowling meets the chassis. Allow the rip-and-grip strips to cure for 24 hours in a warm environment before attaching the shell. (Fig. 10)

15. Secure the shell to the frame by using pre-attached hook and loop straps sewn into the inside of the shell. Wrap the straps around the roof ribs [QL, QR] and the front [NL, NR] and back [PL, PR] frame uprights and secure. (Fig. 12)

14. Unpack the fabric snow cab shell [U], discard any packing tissue and unfold on a soft surface, like grass or a tarp. This will prevent scratches to the clear windows. Unzip the doors to aid in installation.

Find the front of the snow cab shell. It has a stretch material skirt on the bottom. Gently pull the snow cab shell over the snow cab frame on your riding mower being careful not to scratch the windows.

Match up each outside corner to the frame and make sure the snow cab is centered on the frame. (Fig. 11)

Fig. 13a

Fig. 13b16. At the bottom front of the snow cab shell, find the stretchable material skirt. You will notice a hole in the fabric near the bottom on either side. Fold the outside part of the fabric in toward the mower and slip the hole over the foot controls on either side. (Figs. 13a & 13b)

USAGE20. Both side doors can be unzipped and rolled out of the way for easy entry and exit in hot weather. To open, simply unzip the door, roll the fabric toward the front of the snow cab and secure with theattached compression buckles. (Fig. 16)

Attach the magnets in the bottom of both doors to the metal foot platform of the riding mower. (Fig. 17)

17. On the bottom front left side of the shell, find the 5" long plastic clip sewn near the hem. Pull this clip down and hook under the edge of the riding mower fender deck making sure to trap the woven material between the inside of the hook and the edge of the fender deck. Repeat on other side. (Fig. 14a, 14b & 15)

18. Attach the stretchable material skirt to therip-and-grip strips installed in the engine cowling area. Close mower hood. Be careful not to get any shell material caught or pinched when closing.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

STORAGEStore in a clean dry place. Allow your snow cab to dry completely before removing and storing. Avoid folding the plastic windows of the cover for long periods.

BOLTSCheck all bolts before each use to see that they are tight. If one or more bolts come loose, failure of snow cab parts may occur.

CLEANING AND CAREDon’t clean the clear plastic of your snow cab when it is dry—you can scratch it. The best way to clean the clear plastic is to hose it with water and rub it with your bare hands or soft cloth. Liquid soap may be used.

During freezing weather an automotive windshield solvent and a soft cloth will work (don’t use bare hands with the solvent).

Use a warm wet rag to wash the fabric areas of the snow cab. Don’t use soap as it may remove protective coatings added by the factory.

21. The right and left front side of the snow cab has a zippered opening for use with riding mower accessories. To use simply open the zipper to insert the controls for the accessory into the seating area of the snow cab. For a more weather-tight closure, use the included plastic cable ties [V] and close both zippers around the control bar of the accessory. This will ensure that the zippers move in unison and stay tight. (Fig. 18)

Enjoy your new 100 Series Snow Cab!
