COMPREHENSIVE REPORT BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL ON UNESCO’S STANDARD-SETTING INSTRUMENTS

SUMMARY

Pursuant to 33 C/Resolution 88 of the General Conference, the Director-General submits to the Executive Board this information document which contains particulars, as at 30 June 2015, of the standard-setting activities envisaged at UNESCO and a comprehensive report on all the Organization’s standard-setting instruments, and more particularly on the status of ratification of conventions, for transmission to the General Conference at its 38th session, along with any comments the Executive Board may consider it useful to make at this session.

No decision is required.

1. In 33 C/Resolution 88, the General Conference invited the Director-General to submit to it at each of its sessions "an information document containing particulars of the standard-setting activities envisaged at UNESCO and a comprehensive report on all the Organization's standard-setting instruments, and more particularly on the status of ratification of conventions, with comments by the Executive Board".

2. This document, drawn up to give effect to 33 C/Resolution 88, contains the following information:
