Introduction Entrepreneurship is gaining added attention in the present economic predicament. Entrepreneurship is not only a key facet of economic dynamism but also an imperative for economic growth, productivity, innovation and employment. With a view point of this, Shree P. K. Taneja (Retired IAS Officer) president of GSFC University has evolved the connection with The Center for Entrepreneurship Development, A government of Gujarat organization. The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) is a premier Organization of Government of Gujarat engaged in Entrepreneurship Development Training since 1979 and Skill Development since 2009. The Concept behind CED is to develop entrepreneurs in the urban as well as rural areas of the state, who can establish their own Enterprise (Trading/Service/Manufacturing) which in turn aids in economic growth of the state and also creates employment opportunities for others. CED strongly believes that, “Now a days in the era of cut throat competition there is a limited scope of job opportunities hence it is very essential to think over other alternative options. An individual can become self-reliant and economically sound when he put his 100% efforts in the different direction of Self Employment." Hence to empowering youth through skill and entrepreneurship CED has developed several short term training programs known as EDP (Entrepreneurship Development Program) of 2 to 4 weeks under the scheme of “ED Cell” which are as follow:
EDPM : 1 (Entrepreneurship Development Program Module: 1) of 4 weeks EDPM : 2 (Entrepreneurship Development Program Module: 2) of 2 weeks
Under the guidance of GSFC University management as well as CED experts, EDPM: 2 (Entrepreneurship Development Program Module: 2) of 2 weeks has been finalized. The training module majorly includes subjects consists of which industry to be started, how to start, which type of facilities are available, how to manage the business successfully, product guidance, information sources, market survey, managerial inputs, project report preparation, counseling, achievement motivation and post training supportive assistance by the well-known experts from the industries to give the professional guidance and detailed information. Module at a glance mentioned in pictorial form in the next page.
