Keeping track of your children’s academics and activities can be a full time job anymore. Practices, rehearsals, clubs, after school study hall are just a few things that are offered here at Milwaukie High and Milwaukie Academy of the Arts that keep your student busy. One way to keep track of their academic performance is to use Parent Vue. Parent Vue is the access to our student information system that communicates attendance, grades, course history and more. It is also a way to communicate with your child’s teachers. Parent Vue can be easily downloaded on your mobile device and you can check grades and attendance in real time. Your Parent Vue login information will be the same as it was in the past. If you need access or have a problem with it, please contact Cate Russell in the counseling office. You can call Cate at 503-353-5841 or email her at [email protected] . We will be hosting parent/teacher conferences on November 3 from Noon to 4:30 PM and 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you. October 19 is PSAT day - the state of Oregon administers the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test(PSAT) to all tenth grade students on this day. Juniors may also take the test to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program. Juniors must sign up for the test with the bookkeeper. Seniors that have not completed their essential skills for graduation in writing and math will be required to attend that day to complete work samples. Freshmen do not come to school on this day. What should I do to protect myself from the flu this season? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease. People should begin getting vaccinated soon after flu vaccine becomes available, if possible by October, to ensure that as many people as possible are protected before flu season begins. However, as long as flu viruses are circulating in the community, it’s not too late to get vaccinated.

In addition to getting a seasonal flu vaccine, or if you have not already been vaccinated, you can take everyday preventive actions like staying away from people who are ill and washing your hands to reduce the spread of germs. If you are sick with flu, stay home from work or school to prevent spreading flu to others.

(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) (CDC) рекомендуют
