‘’ MOTIVATION ’’ The Nobel Committee is

pleased to award "a woman who is part of the Muslim world," reads the citation of the award underlining how “Ebadi does not see conflict between Islam and fundamental human rights "." It is important to her that the dialogue between different cultures and religions of the world can start from shared values "," its main arena is the struggle for fundamental human rights, and no societies deserve to be called civilized, if the rights of women and children are not respected “

‘’ EXILE ’’ In November 2009, the Tehran police

raided her apartment beating her husband and seized the Nobel Prize for peace. At the relevant time Ebadi had been in London since June in a sort of self-imposed exile to escape a warrant for her arrest for an alleged tax evasion, which could reach on her return at home. On receiving the news, the woman said, "Nothing scares me any more ,even if they threaten to arrest me for tax evasion on my return. They claim that I owe the government $ 410,000 in back taxes for the Nobel Prize: a canard since the Iranian tax law provides that awards are exempt. If they do this to a high profile person like me, I wonder how they behave in secret with a student or ordinary citizen. "
