The Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain is one of the greatest sculptures in Italy’s history. It took over 100 years to create.

The Coliseum

• The Coliseum is one of the most famed landmarks of Italy for it’s violent history. The Coliseum was where men fought daily usually to the death. It was an honorable occupation but not the most desirable one because of the “health risks”.

Venice

• Venice is debatably the most unique city in the world. With streets of water and buildings of ancient Italy, Venice is no doubt a beautiful place.

The Sistine Chapel

The Sistine Chapel is one of the seven wonders of the world. This incredible work of art was created by a master painter named Michelangelo. The complexity and simplicity of the piece creates a scene that makes the world pity the blind.

The Vatican City

• The Vatican City is considered by most Catholics the place to find God. The Vatican is home to the Pope who is the leader of the Catholic faith. He walks out onto the balcony and blesses the people in the square every Sunday.

Leaning Tower of Pisa

• The Leaning Tower of Pisa was created as a perpendicular tower but now leans at an angel of five and a half degrees from vertical. This has occurred because the land the Leaning Tower of Pisa was built on was unstable resulting in its tilt.

The Statue of DavidThe statue of David was made by the same

man that created the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo. Standing at an impressive seventeen feet tall the statue is much larger than life. The statue was sculpted in the early 1500’s and has been considered one of the best pieces of art today.

ITALY

• Italy is known for the look of a “boot kicking a stone”. Italy is therefore known by many people as the boot country.

Caprice Salad

• Caprice Salad is one of the traditional foods of Italy and is one of my family’s favorites. Made of tomatoes, fresh basil, and feta cheese it is a healthy choice and a tasty one at that.

Leonardo Da Vinci

• Leonardo Da Vici was arguably the smartest man to ever live. He created many inventions still used today like the bicycle, the tank, and the car engine. Leonardo was a master painter, inventor, and incredible person.
