TERRITORIAL APPROACH FOR SUSTAINABLE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT Presentations - Workshops - Trainings Dec 5 - 7 Organized by ART is a UNDP global programme that aims at enabling territories and their communitiesto achieve the millennium development goals and face post -2015 challenges. ART Framework Programmes are operational in 19 countries, 75 regions and 325 municipalities. Africa: Gabon, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique and Senegal. Asia: Indonesiaand Sri Lanka. Latin America: Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Uruguay. In addition there is a Central American Programme. Middle East: Lebanon, and Syria. The Balkans: Albania and Kosovo. ART reinforces local capacities and provides local governments and other territorial actors with instruments that bolster inclusive and participatory decision making as well as articulation between and across sectors. For several years, the DAECT (Delegation for the External Action of Local Authorities) has been providing support to local government projects as well as national networks and regional consultation and coordination bodies in the form of calls for proposals. It serves as a resource and support centre for local and regional authorities, providing legal support, information services, analysis and advice. It also implements a series of tools designed to encourage consistency and information pooling (bilateral meetings, decentralized cooperation portal, publications).
