IT TAKES THREE
David wrote: “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain
who build it” (Ps. 127:1). The wise person understands that a successful
marriage consists of more than just two individuals. Unless the Lord is the
foundation of that home, the odds of success are minimal.
A braid appears to contain only two strands of hair. But it is
impossible to create a braid with only two strands. If the two could be
put together at all, they would quickly unravel.
Therein lies the mystery ... What looks like two strands requires a third. The
third strand, though not immediately evident, keeps the strands tightly
woven.
In a Christian marriage, God’s presence and guidance, like the third
strand in a braid, holds husband a wife together.
