Students and staff know that mistakes will happen or individuals will have rough moments, but we can support each other to make each tomorrow better than today. It’s also important to celebrate our successes throughout the year because it takes every member of the team to reach our goals. As a part of celebrating our successes, two classrooms will be recognized each week with our Traveling Hawk Trophies. Classrooms earn this honor by working together as a team, following expectations, and trying to grow and improve each day. These classrooms will have their picture taken and will get to keep the Hawk in their classrooms for one week to remind them about teamwork. Look for updates throughout the school year! Hawk Highlights will normally be e-mailed to families on the 2 nd Friday of each month. It will also be available on our school’s website: http://www.bellevuepublicschools.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/Bellevue%20Elementary If you would like a printed copy of our newsletter, please contact the office. It Takes Teamwork to Make the Dream Work Working Together to Reach Our Potential

On the first day of school, Mr. Wellmann met with every classroom to discuss the importance of working together as a team, following expectations, and trying to grow and improve each day.

Bellevue Elementary’s Run/Walk Club Our students have been doing a great job running and walking laps on the playground during lunch recess. This optional activity for the kids is an awesome way to promote healthy choices. Please remind your kids to pace themselves and wear appropriate shoes for this activity. Students can also check with their classroom teachers about bringing water bottles to school. Students earn one stick for every lap that they complete. For every five sticks collected, they earn a toe token; and for every 66 sticks collected, they earn a wristband. This will continue until late October/early November depending on the weather. The Run/Walk Club is also a great way to start preparing for one of the most exciting events of the school year. Our Red-Tailed Hawk Run/Walk Fundraiser, the PTA’s largest fundraiser, has been scheduled for September 29th.
