CREATION
• Torvalds's curiosity of hearing the limitation usage caused by MINIX licensing had him inclined to make and work on his own OS. Afterwards, it became the Linux Kernel.
NAMING
• The inventor thought of naming his invention Freax. After year’s of it’s usage, a volunteer who was recognized as an administrator of the FTP server said to Travold that freax was not a good name. After receiving this reply travold decided to name his project ‘Linux’.
COMMERCIAL AND POPULAR UPTAKE
• During the mid 90’s, NASA acquired commodity computer’s that run or use Linux and it’s reason of cheap cost.
• Commercial rate had been increased in for Dell and IBM following Hwelett-Packard’s offering Linux support. Describing this statement as a concern to Microsoft and a market issue.
CURRENT DEVELOPMENT
• Current development is supported by Linux Vendors, its an additional package management.
DESIGN
• Linux based system has it’s UNIX-Like OS design concept. A basic design of the 70’s and 80’s that handle’s process control, networking, peripheral and file system access.
• GNU User land stand’s as the important part for it’s implantation of the C library

USER INTERFACE
The name for the user interface is shell Called as two {CLI or GUI} [CLI : Command Line Interface /GUI : Graphical

DEVELOPMENT
• The main difference between modern operating system is that linux kernel is free and open source software.

PROGRAMMING ON LINUX
• Many of Linux distribution’s provide support of dozen’s of programming language’s
• Programing language’s is aimed at scripting, test processing, system configuration and management {Aimed as by saying as by doing this …}
• Much of many program’s have embedded programming language's to support configuration and management {Ex:- Regular Expression’s / Grep or locate}
USES
• Computer Architecture Support, Embedded System’s, Stability, Security, Localization of language term’s, Targeting a specific group, support for real-life time applications
DESKTOP
• At current time’s, many of those distribution’s have an inclusion of a graphical user environment.
• Among are two popular environment’s, GNOME and KDE Plasma Desktop
PERFORMANCE AND APPLICATIONS
• In the year 2007, news's were spread from linux community and it was said, that of their favoring of performance on server’s had quite damaged the focus on desktop.
• A wide variety of application’s are available …
COMPONENTS AND INSTALLATION
• Programs that support desktop computers and these are, D-Bus or PulseAudio.
SERVERS, MAINFRAMES AND SUPERCOMPUTERS
• Linux distribution’s were used as server operating system’s and also for supercomputer’s

GAMING
• During it’s first year’s, linux did not get this wide attention of promoting companies' making game’s for linux only. As only a few popular game’s did function in linux
• Now of those present year’s, various game are now compatible to function to linux term’s
HOME THEATER PC
• Now a home theater PC is presented to have PC component's of connecting a TV. Purposed to keep you entertained.
