The trends of increase in the generation of data have hit every single country, including India. With such

enormous amounts of data being generated the world over, a country like India with a sizable

population, figures amongst countries like the United States Of America and China and the others. With

so much of data being produced, our country has become what is known as a data exporter. A more

detailed definition of the term, ‘data exporter’ is an entity which just generates data, without slim

efforts to mine or protect it. There are two reasons why India falls into this category, first because of the

density of people making use of technology and second, because of the dearth of skills in harnessing and

protecting the said data.

India’s massive growth rate in terms of its population, is not hidden from the world, apart from which its

obsession with the western world is also acknowledged. While trying to stay up-to-date with the social

media and progress in the field of technology, our country has seen an enormous growth in the number

of people using devices, thereby generating data. One thing to notice here, is the fact that the

technological devices being used, fit under the more affordable range. As a result of this India probably

has about 1% of its population using Apple phones, but the rest of the others use cheaper models of

phones, tablets, laptops and desktops and other such devices. These devices are of sub-par level, when

it comes to security functions. This chasm like gap between devices that are configured to take

necessary security actions; and those devices which just exist as a means of usage and have little to no

security functions has made it difficult for the various firms and governments to put in place, one

uniform system to ensure the protection of this data.

Thus, as the government is not able to control the kind of hardware, used by all the internet users,

throughout the country; it makes India susceptible to cybercrime. A number of people access the

internet not from one, but probably from two or three devices, which makes them vulnerable for any

kind of cyber-crime. The rise in cyber-crimes, especially those that are military in nature has resulted in

the government grappling for ways and means to keep these electronic intrusions in check. This is one of

the reasons why various private and governmental firms, are always on the lookout to find individuals

who would be skilled enough, to develop a strong cyber security system, so as to fight of fraudulent

crimes on a national level. Even on a micro level, a lot of companies are begun to look for professionals,

who are trained in protecting their data, so as to ensure that the data they generate is extracted and

prevented from being compromised.

As the field of data grows, many challenges emerge, the biggest of them all is the issue of discrepancy of

cyber-crime on any level. This why IT professionals, who are certified in various data analytics tools such

as Big Data Hadoop, SAS and R are sought after. This is another reason why certification courses are

becoming a popular reality among candidates looking for a career in field of data analytics. Imarticus

Learning is a premium institute, having received the accolades of being amongst the top 4 data analytics

training institutes, it offers industry endorsed courses in the Data Science landscape so as to ensure the
