The Life of Tracy Patrick, Jr.“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.”

(Proverbs 3:5-8)

In days gone by...The word spread rapidly throughout Conroe, Texas sixty-five years ago. A precious baby boy was born to Mr. Tracy and Mrs. Queen Esther Rose Patrick. They lovingly named him Tracy Patrick, Jr. Mother Cleo called him “Angel”.

He grew in statue...Tracy attended public school in the Goose Creek Independent School District in Baytown, Texas, graduating from George Washington Carver High School. He furthered his education at Neighborhood Youth Vocational School, Texas Southern University and Houston Community College, all located in Houston, Texas. While attending T.S.U. he was a member of the “Ocean of Soul” Marching Band. Tracy had a great passion for music, dancing and attending family gatherings.

In 1960, Tracy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He united with Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was baptized there. He remained a faithful member and sang in the choir until his death. One of his favorite scriptures was Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” He also often quoted Matthew 5:30, “And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell,” and Matthew 6:3, “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”

Tracy volunteered for the armed forces, enlisting in the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam Era. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three (3) bronze service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.

Tracy united in Holy Matrimony with Carolyn Carter. They were blessed with three (3) children: Chicquitta, Andre and Fadre Lynn.

Life that has no end...On (date of death), Tracy found perfect peace as he fell asleep in Jesus’ arms. He was surrounded by family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Tracy “Bo Peep” Patrick, Sr.; his mother, Queen Esther Cook; maternal grandparents, Cleo McGrue and Ed Rose; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Mable Rawlins; and brother, Richard Patrick.

Until we meet again...Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Carolyn Patrick; children, Chicquitta Patrick Bland, Andre Patrick, Lartricia Armstrong, Fadre Lynn Patrick and Marcus Patrick (Maria); two sisters, Dorothy Patrick Clark and Debbie Patrick; two brothers, Larry Patrick (Deborah) and Tracy Patrick White. He also leaves behind eleven (11) grandchildren and twelve (12) great grandchildren; a very special friend, Stephanie Page; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tributes of Love

Tracy, you are our first cousin, but we were raised as brothers. Words can’t express how much you will be missed. Memories we have as a family will last forever. Your presence at all family gatherings always made a difference. We will truly miss you “Cuz/Top Cat”.

Helen, Louis, Lawrence, LaVertie, Annie, Michael and Shelia

There just doesn’t seem to be an easy way to say good-bye to you. We are so grateful for everything you have done for each and every one of us. We have shared so many good times and you put so much laughter in our hearts. It hurts imagining what life will be like without you. PaPa Tracy, you will forever be in our hearts. To say it like you did, “We love you, not all the time, because you be acting up.” Peace Out....

Your Grandchildren

We had so many happy times together and shared many laughs. We’ve also had our share of bad times, but in spite of it all, I loved you and thank God for every day of our lives. I will treasure all those memories. I know you are in a better place, when Heaven’s gate opened and God called you home. I will miss being your boss, but caring sister, as you would say.

Dorothy “Dot Jean”

As I lay awake at night in my bed, visions of you fill my head. You didn’t possess great wealth and fame, but you had something much greater that came from above. That’s why I nicknamed you “Baby.” My baby is gone now to his home above, smiling and appreciating our love. I love and miss you, and know my heart is true. My hope and strength lies in God’s hands and I know he will see me through. Be at peace baby in your new home above. God is there to keep you and lead you, my precious love.

Love Forever, Stephanie

There never seems to be enough time to say all that we need to say to everyone that we love as we travel day to day. We are thankful to God that you knew all that’s in our hearts, although our time together on this side was cut short. On Thursday, God call you home to be with Him, and we know He knows what’s best and now you are at rest. So Daddy, sleep well in Jesus’ arms, for in Christ there is no end. Sleep well, for all who knew you as “Daddy”, “Pa-Pa”, “Tracy”, “Top Cat”, “Angel” and “Friend.”

Love Your Children,Chicquitta, Andre, Lartricia, Fadre and Marcus

Notice of Address Change

“I’m Moving On”

Dear Family and Friends: I want you to know I have moved. I received a Call from God, the Chief Architect, who informed me that my new home is ready and that I could move immediately. I just didn’t have time to give you notice.

You all know I have been sending up timber in my own way, packing up a little at a time, getting ready to go, but there were some minor things to do; some finishing touches and some timber that only Chief Carpenter Jesus Christ could help me do. I also had to wait for Him to let me know when He had finished some of the little things that were too broad, too thick, or not long enough.

Well, my new home is finished and it’s such a beautiful sight to behold. It’s located in an exclusive estate area and it sits behind a beautiful pearly gate, just off a serene celestial shore. Of course the streets are paved with gold and everyday is Sunday here, I been told. I have lived in several places before my new home was prepared and none of the others could compare. There is Peace, Joy and Happiness here, with no more pain and cares of the world to bear. There is only Sweet Serenity everywhere. I could go on and on about my new home, but I have to get fitted for new robe. Let me give you my new address, because I highly recommend you make plans to live here too...
