It has been a week of surprises

for the children

Introducing Uncle KC and his quails!

(His 3 children were ex-Kindy students)

Uncle KC keeps quails as pets and he was at Kindy to tell us more about these special birds.

Remember the special art and craft project they completed earlier?

Yes ! The children made Chinese New Year cards just for you !

We took the children for a short walk to the mail box to send out their special cards.

Fun & Movement

Mass Activity

As the saying goes: ‘Practice makes perfect’ and practise we did!

In pairs, the children slide from the starting point to a station with 2 chairs and a hulahoop.

When they reach the station, the child holding the ball will roll it through the hulahoop and it is the partner’s

job to catch it!

They then slide to the next station and repeat the action.


A minigame to make use of our skills!

A group of children will be in the centre of the circle.

Those forming circle will aim and roll the ball in attempt

to hit those inside the circle while they try to dodge them!


Love 1 & 2

The Love children will be focussing on developing their fundamental movement skills.

Through a game of follow the leader, the children are exposed to different locomotor skills:

Marching, high march, sliding, running, jumping…


Their listening skills were cultivated as they learn to listen to the instructions given and….

FREEZE when the leader turns and says’ Freeze!’

Joy & Peace

Developing their agility (change in direction), acceleration and speed!

The Joy and Peace children were taught the shuttle run to test the body control and short burst of speed!

Run to the marked point, pick up a bean bag and running back to the starting point and place the bean bag.

They then run back to the marked point to retrieve the second bean bag and running back to the starting point.


Children were also taught to return the bean bags back to the marked point for those running after them.

They will run back and give the next runner a high five!

Modifying the activity…

Instead of sprinting forwards… they will now move backwards!


Run backwards, pick up the bean bag, and sprint forward!


Aesthetics (Art/Craft)

With the Chinese New Year just around the corner,

we made our own CNY Doggie Banner to welcome the Year of the Dog!

Taking the dog template and coloured paper

All working hard to create the best banner …

Lots of colouring and decorating,

writing the CNY greetings on the coloured paper,

folding it accordion style

and finally cutting out the dog template.

And a final step … help from Teachers to put them together

For the Love children,

they coloured the pre-cut dog template,

pasted the Chinese New Year greetings

and decorated the coloured paper.


Aesthetics (Music & Movement)

This is song with a simple tune to it!

So the children picked up the song really quickly.

They sang it at least once through and played a game:

Fly around the mats as the song is played..

Be on the mats when each part of the song ends, or risk getting caught!
