Independent Reading Menu 5 th Grade Name__________________Week of 4/19/2010 Along with your Independent Reading this week you need to complete one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert. All of these are due on Friday at the end of Reading Workshop. Independent Reading Book:________________________________________________ __ In your independent book and book club book focus on questioning and answering questions with inferences. Use stickies or Wallwisher to track stickies. Bring your work to book club. ___ Using Google Docs complete the One Pager @ http://bit.ly/1pager Bring your one pager to Book Club with you. ___ We have been studying theme in class, create a digital poster on Glogster that highlights the themes you have discovered in your book. ____ We have been studying theme in class, write 3-5 min. (using docs or wave) a skit, with another member of your book club, portraying the various themes in your book. Once the script is written use the flip to record and publish it. ____ Blog Post - __ Blog about your book club book or your independent reading book. If you are not finding extra time at home or at school to read a separate independent reading book then do a blog post on your book club book. Pick a topic from possible letter topics sheet. Must be 450-500 words. You can start this Tuesday ___ On independent book club day, you will spend time reading each otherʼs post and responding. There will be no formal get together, but you will use the time to do this. You must read and respond to everyone in your group. Reponses must be at least 150 words. Appetizer Entree Dessert
