In the last feedback session the people who critiqued my work liked that the name was written in the style of the 'SEIKO' clock which is used to time the 100m sprint. So to go on each page I have decided to each of the top ten of the fastest runners names in this style to go on the top left of the left hand side page ... I started this font by creating each of the letters in the 5 x 7 rectangles so that I could easily create the names of the athlete. This is the SEIKO clock style alphabet I created :

Page layout and front page designThe layout of my publication aims to make the image the key focal point of the DPS. The text on the right hand side page is aligned more to the right of the page which puts more emphasis on the image by giving it that extra space.

Development of illustrations

The illustrations are supposed to give the publication a lighthearted feel making it more interesting and exciting for the target audience.

I am covering the top 10 fastest runners on the planet and adding illustrations on top of them. These illustrations have been drawn and using tracing paper and scanned in to be applied digitally. The illustrations i have used try to capture what the runner is about, how fast the runner is or something that explains where the runner is from.

Above is Jiro Bevis. I found his art work on a vinyl cover an wanted to recreate his style in my publication. I want to use illustration on top of some of the fastest runners showing who they are and what makes them who they are...

The reason I want to illustrate on top of the images is to make the book a little bit more interesting and help it stand out from other information books on the market.
