- non-destructive, parallel testing with the same sample is possible

How to determine a minimum detection rate in OSD? Correct detection of 100 % of impurities or at least as good as a seed analyst in an ISTA accredited laboratory? Research project: Analysis of 1656 OSD test results from 27 ISTA proficiency tests, grouped in easy, moderate and difficult impurities. Mean detection rates in ISTA accredited laboratories: easy impurities: 91 % moderate impurities: 76 % difficult impurities: 36 %

ISTA. 2. Collect and interpret data and opinions on “advanced” technologies. 3. Provide information on “advanced” technologies to the ISTA community 4. Chair or participate in research/tests of “advanced” technologies in cooperation with
other TCOMs and/or act as reviewers. 5. Formulate views on ongoing or future technological developments (e.g. nano-
technology, micro electronics etc.) from a seed testing perspective to aid the ISTA organization.

We ask the membership to discuss and vote about the following motion (see Document OGM18-08)
The members at the OM2018 ask the ECOM together with the relevant TCOMs: (1) to present a Rules Change Proposal for the inclusion of image
analysis systems in Other Seed Determination at the OM2019 for voting,
(2) to develop an action plan for the inclusion of new technologies in other classical seed testing methods and to present this action plan at the OM2019,
(3) to include the Advanced Technology Committee (ATC) in this process and to adapt its objectives accordingly.
