All Water wood property owners are invited to attend. The purpose of the open house is for everyone to see firsthand the beautiful condition of the golf course and surrounding areas and to compare what a critical part of our community could look like without the efforts of the WMGA. We will gather around the old greens by the former pro shop. For those who will be driving by car the old club parking lot will be open and you will be met by a volunteer with a cart. Golf cart tours around part of the golf course will be available. Refreshments will be served, including hamburgers and hot dogs. We hope all Waterwood property owners will make every effort to attend the open house. The irrigation system is up and running with excellent performance. Maintenance to the greens has been completed and they are beginning to fill in and look terrific. Our next maintenance project is to fertilize all the fairways and we hope to have that completed within the next couple of weeks. Of special interest was the garden of pre-historic plants that dinosaurs would have eaten, the large herb garden and the beautiful irispond. Our volunteer tour guide was a retiredschool teacher who was entertaining and veryknowledgeable about the plant and wildlifeliving in the gardens. A short business meetingfollowed the luncheon.

The April meeting of the WWL was held atMercer Gardens. Eighteen women toured thegardens, shopped in the gift shop and enjoyeda picnic lunch at one of the garden pavilions.

WATERWOOD MUD NO.12 WATERWOOD

HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS 77320936/891-5019

Waterwood was developed in the early 1970’s and at that time our surface water and waste waterplants were built. These structures are approaching 40 years of constant use and even thoughthey have been maintained well some of the structures are starting to show their age.

It has been determined over the last year that our waste water treatment plant needs to bereplaced and the process has begun to do just that. At present the plans for a new waste watertreatment plant are being designed by the District’s engineer. Once they are finished with thedesign phase we will begin with the construction phase which brings us to the subject for thisarticle.

When Waterwood was developed the voters authorized the issuance of approximately $107 millionin bonds which are to be used for construction projects for the District. At present the Districthas only used approximately $6.9 million of those bonds which will be paid off in 2016. With theneed for a new waste water treatment plant the Board for the District will be using more bondmoney to pay for that construction. It is anticipated the debt service payment per year will notincrease but the term of the bonds will be extended.

At present the District does not know the amount of bonds that will need to be used nor does theDistrict know how much this will lengthen the term to pay off the bonds but we will keep youposted as we move along through this process.

Should you have any questions please feel free to contact Palmer Management and we will bemore than happy to answer any questions you may have about this issue.

’Cash, check or charge?’ the checker asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.

As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.

’So, do you always carry your TV remote?’ I asked. ’No,’ she replied, ‘ but my husband refused tocome shopping with me.

WANT TO BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR?

GOT A BARKING DOG?

There is a solution! In fact, several.

Waterwood is home to many dogs. There are wonderful (spoiled) dogs that getpushed around in a carriage. Others have their own “golf cart limo” driven by theirowner. Others walk around Waterwood on their own. Some are on leases andsome are not. Those not on leases are either accompanied by their owner or NOT.

Those accompanied by their owner are not a problem. The best example of thatis a dog on Doral (which will remain nameless) that is under strict voice commandand is a model dog. A hint (his namesake wears a mask (not unlike a racoon’s face) and steals from others).

The problem dogs are the ones that destroy the tranquility and peacefulnes of Waterwood by barking. The most obvious violators are on the golf course, butothers have been appearing on Waterfront properties as well.

To be a good neighbor you may go to any of the following sites: (Just to be educated about the problem, or to order something to fix the problem).
