Assessments - Mid Year Reports I have been impressed by the recent student data reports that have been generated after recent online, school based and Department assessments. Teaching staff have moderated and analysed data in their teams and they are currently working extra long hours to document our comprehensive student mid year reports. Three Way Conferences will be conducted on Wednesday 24th June. Just to remind parents that this is a student free day where formal classes will not operate but Out Of school Hours Care will be operating all day from 6.30am– 6.30pm.
National Reconciliation Week This week is National Reconciliation Week (27th May – 3rd June). The dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the anniversary of the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. This week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can join the national reconciliation effort. May 27th marks the anniversary of Australia’s most significant referendum and a defining event in our nation’s history. The 1967 referendum saw over 90 per cent of Australians vote to give the Commonwealth the power to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and recognise them in the national census. On 3rd June 1992, the High Court of Australia delivered its landmark Mabo decision which legally recognised that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a special relationship to the land – that existed prior to colonisation and still exists today. The recognition paved the way for land rights called Native Title.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Lost Property There is a significant amount of lost property that is being handed in at the moment. We endeavour to return all items that are named. I recommend parents name clothing items not only on the tag but also somewhere within the garments. Lost property is located outside of the sick bay and any unclaimed items will be removed at the end of this term.
Head Lice Check Next Monday June the 1st Whittlesea Council nurses
will be on site to check students for head lice/nits . These checks are a very necessary part of primary school life and the checks are always performed in a respectful and caring manner.

create something beautiful.
