Pets are great companions and mine is no exception. However, when you have a puzzle project to hand they can be a nightmare. I know cats are renowned for sneaking up to the table and placing themselves in just the right place to inhibit your workspace, but when my dog decided he wanted attention, he did even better. He pawed the board every time I left it unattended and managed to spill jigsaw pieces each time. I finally finished the jigsaw and to my dismay found that I had 6 pieces missing… After searching the floor, the chair, the hoover and every other space I could think of I gave up…..Could it have been a fault during manufacture or had Bailey eaten the pieces? Will we ever know thought I! Having despondently broken up the jigsaw (all 2000pcs minus 6) and disposed of it to the recycling bin I started my next project…Bailey did his normal thing and waited until I had left the board unattended before pawing away… This time I watched and was amazed to see him pick up a couple of pieces in his mouth and promptly move to his sofa, where he hid them intact under a cushion - I found the other 6 pieces too - albeit too late to salvage the jigsaw.
Disappointed – I greatly enjoyed receiving my jigsaws today and was delighted to see some unusual Heye jigsaws which I hadn’t seen advertised. Decided I would treat myself to a few more only to find out that they are not yet available in the UK. Why do the Manufacturers tempt us with catalogues and inserts containing jigsaws that are not available?
We really enjoyed this… Perhaps you should get Bailey a jigsaw all of his own. Our dog tends to bury bones but I’ve never seen her hide jigsaw pieces.
I understand your frustration, but when European Manufacturers produce their catalogues and leaflets they produce for all the countries they supply. Sometimes it cannot be imported due to licencing issues or maybe is not considered by the UK suppliers as appropriate for the UK market. And it could be something which was issued after selection and UK catalogue production and could find its way into our market place in the future…

We have many requests for more 500 piece jigsaws and hope to put together a good selection in the October newsletter. Since 1000 piece jigsaws are more popular we tend to feature these more so than smaller piece sizes. However, the catalogues we send out i.e.: Gibsons, Ravensburger, Falcon etc. contain quite an abundance of 500 piece jigsaws which are available at all times.
Apologies to those of you that had to wait so long for FJ11034 – 3 in 1 Christmas. Despite a supposed July launch, this puzzle didn’t arrive from our Manufacturer until late Aug. Hopefully you’re all now enjoying one or more of the delightful puzzles … !
