A s the holidays are quickly approaching, I look back and won-der where this year has gone. It has gone by very quickly, yet
has been very productive. As always, it is an honor to continue to serve as Executive Director of the Missouri Grocers Association.
The holidays become a busy season for the grocers across the state as consumers prepare for gatherings with friends and family. As Thanksgiving approaches, I can’t help but be thankful to the men and women who help make MGA as successful as it is. During this time of year, we must count our blessings.
The MGA Convention and Tradeshow was a huge success this year. We had many familiar faces and old friends join us, as well as many new guests. Our new time allowed for many new vendors to join us and provided great opportunities for networking with our retailers.
Many of our vendors are excited and looking forward to next year’s convention.
We were honored to have Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, and Governor Mike Parson join us for various events throughout this year’s convention. Our leaders in the state of Mis-souri continue to be a friendly voice for the grocery industry across the state.
As the year comes to an end and we reflect on the great successes MGA enjoyed this past year, now is the time to gear up and prepare for an even better year in 2020. Thank you for your continued sup-port. I wish each and every one of you a happy holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.

W e kept the new, enhanced, shorter version of the convention and moved the event to mid-week. The response was over-
whelming and all who attended had a great time. The weather was crisp, and the signs of fall were beginning to show. We want to thank everyone who participated and supported this event. Take a look at some of the highlights of this year’s event.
M issouri Grocers Association is thrilled to announce that Elijah Stroot from Cosentino’s Price Chopper #285 in Raymore, Mis-
souri won the MGA Best Bagger competition held on October 17th at the annual convention at Margaritaville Lake Resort. Elijah Stroot will travel to San Diego, California in February to represent Missouri at the national competition, held by the National Grocers Association, where he will compete to win $10,000 and the title of “National Best Bagger.”
