Rheem launches new Rheem Plumbers’ Handbook
Rheem has launched a handy new pocket-sized guide to all Rheem domestic and selected heavy duty water heater models.
Designed for plumbers to use on site, the new 118-page Rheem Plumbers’ Handbook is an easy reference guide which provides solid technical assistance and support for plumbers when installing a Rheem hot water unit.
“The handbook has been created as a comprehensive ready-reckoner to make it easy for plumbers to quickly find the right information they need, and its water-resistant pages have been designed to survive the rigors of on-site use,” says John Wilkins, Rheem Australia Product Marketing Manager.
“It provides all the key information from product features, dimensions and specifications to the type of installation.
Every category is covered, including electric storage, gas storage, continuous flow/instantaneous, solar and heat pump plus popular accessories/options.” The handbook includes detailed installation checklists and safety guidelines for the various different types of hot water systems, in addition to information on anodes. For ease of reference, there is one model per page with specific information including:
• The model number • Product drawing and dimensions • Photograph of the system • Specifications • Star rating (for gas models) • Warranty information • Product features and benefits
Every model has a scannable QR code which will take the user directly to the corresponding page on Rheem’s website, where they can access installation instructions and brochures.
“Whether plumbers are after information on a system for a new build, retrofit or a fast and easy like-for-like replacement, this guide is an invaluable reference tool,” adds John.
This is an exclusive Rheem offer to MPA ACT Members. To get your free Rheem
Plumbers’ Handbook, call Colleen at the MPA ACT office 61128630.
INDONESIA HOSTING COMMUNITY
PLUMBING CHALLENGE
It was announced today that Cicau Village in West Java, Indonesia will host this
year’s international Community Plumbing Challenge (CPC), with Indonesia
becoming the third country to host the CPC, following India in 2015 and South
Africa in 2016.
The announcement was made at the opening of the fourth annual IAPMO
Indonesia Education Conference in Jakarta by IAPMO Group CEO Russ
Chaney.
The IAPMO Indonesia Education Conference is a public outreach event designed
to promote the importance of good plumbing systems in improving the health and
safety of Indonesian citizens, safeguarding the environment and boosting the
Indonesian economy.
At CPC 2017 top young apprentices and professionals representing four or five
different countries, including Indonesia, are expected to participate, joining forces
to form a long-term international collaboration that will deliver improved sanitation
infrastructure and facilities in the Cicau area.
In an exciting new development from previous editions, CPC 2017 will be
presented in two parts, a ‘Design Week’ in August and a ‘Construction Week’ in
November.
CPC 2017 will be presented by the International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Foundation (IWSH) in association with the World Plumbing Council (WPC). The
project will be based at a local school, SD Negeri Cicau 02, with a range of other
promotional and participatory activities planned across the village during the
event.
“Our team is highly motivated to facilitate CPC2017 in partnership with SD Negeri
Cicau 02, as the village is located a mere 3km from our new testing and
certification facility, which opened in 2016. Through CPC2017, we aim to develop
an innovative working relationship with Cicau Village that will stretch into the
years ahead by using the new Indonesian Plumbing Systems Standard to make
gradual gains for general public health through design and implementation of
better sanitation for all,” said IAPMO Group Indonesia senior vice president
Shirley Dewi.
Speaking in Jakarta today, Russ highlighted the CPC’s role in spearheading the
mission of the newly established IWSH Foundation.
“IWSH is now in place to align efforts and extend the great work of organisations,
governments and industry working across the water, sanitation and hygiene
sector, while the CPC targets direct impact in the heart of communities where
water systems are unsafe or unsustainable. Combined, the two platforms offer
huge potential for improving living conditions and public health for specific areas
in need. We are particularly excited to launch our newest program here in
Indonesia this year to continue building bridges across our growing network of
local and international partners,” said Russ

easy to install / adjustable / spare parts available
Enware has introduced the new Leva Sequential range, which has been designed for
ensuite showering and hand-washing applications in the health and aged care market.
Complementing the Leva range, the new products offer benefits including ease of use,
potential for energy savings and reduced risk of legionella compared to traditional single
lever mixer type tapware.
They are designed to be easy to maintain and clean, and are suitable for most basin
types, with the option of adding a suitable spout, available separately from Enware.
The sequential ceramic disc cartridge offers easier control for users with arthritic or
mobility conditions by moving progressively from ‘off’ to ‘full cold’, to ‘mixed’, to ‘full
warm’ in a single anti-clockwise rotation without the need to lift. Since the tap doesn’t
draw any hot or warm water until the handle is moved to the mixed position, energy can
be saved. The risk of legionella is also reduced as it’s not drawing small amounts of hot
and warm water into the pipe work.
Unlike other single lever mixers, the new products offer some adjustability with up to
25mm of depth variability so installation is simple. Both products come with a five year
warranty and spare parts are available.

Any person conducting a business or undertaking from which the notifiable incident arises must notify Access Canberra immediately after becoming aware that it has occurred.
If the 'notifiable incident' arises out of more than one business or undertaking then each must ensure that the incident has been notified to Access Canberra. In these circumstances the duty holders must, so far as is reasonably practicable, consult, cooperate and coordinate to put appropriate reporting and notification arrangements in place.
For example contractors at a construction workplace may agree that the principal contractor for the workplace will notify of all notifiable incidents that occur at the workplace.
