I suppose that many of us don’t thinkabout the 11 lighthouses located in NewJersey or the history which theyrepresent. August 7th is “NationalLighthouse Day”. It was on this day in1789, that Congress approved an Actfor the establishment and support oflighthouse, beacons, buoys and publicpiers.

This year the 7th falls on a Tuesdaywhich may make it difficult for many tovisit a lighthouse. We suggest that youmake plans to visit one or two thisweekend.

New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse is theAbsecon Lighthouse located in AtlanticCity. This is one of our favorites formany reasons and once you climb the228 stairs to the top, the view will tellyou why.

If you want to add to your day, TheSociety Page suggests a wine tasting onyour way to the lighthouse. The bestway to get to the Absecon Lighthouse isby using the White Horse Pike. On ornear the White Horse Pike inHammonton are Tomasello Winery orDimatteo Winery. Both wineries growtheir grapes on site and have tastingrooms. After leaving the lighthouse, make a dinner stop at WL Goodfellowson the White Horse Pike in Galloway.Goodfellows has a great selection ofcraft beers made in New Jersey as wellas really good food.

In Cape May County, there are twolighthouses we would visit. The CapeMay Lighthouse in Cape May Point orThe Hereford Lighthouse in NorthWildwood. If you are heading South tovisit either of these two lighthouses, make a stop first at Natali Vineyards onRoute 47 in Cape May Court House forsome wine tasting. After your visit tothe lighthouses, enjoy an upscale dinnerat Windrift in Avalon. The completelyrenovated Windrift dining room servestruly exceptional meals. Windrift hasan extensive wine list but we suggestthat you ask for a New Jersey producedwine.

A wine tasting, a visit to a lighthouse, and a great dinner would make for amemorable date or quality day togetherwith the one you love. Make some timethis weekend to take advantage of NewJersey’s best resources.

This week’s beer is Smoked andOaked Belgian Ale by Epic Brew-ing Company, Salt Lake City, Utah. This beer pours a cloudy, darkamber color and has a slightlysmoky aroma. Its flavor, however,is the smokiest of any beer I’veever tasted, mixed with the full fla-vor of an oak barrel aged dry whis-key. Paired perfectly with somesmoked ribs, the hint of vanilla andcaramel sweeten this out justenough to hold the Belgian styleto its name. Surprisingly, its ABVis 10.5%, so if you’re kicking someback while barbequing, havingmore than one or two might resultin a dangerous situation. Stick withsomething lighter as a warm up andenjoy this when your ribs are readyfor eating. It will be a pleasantdeviation from a normal lager orpilsner on a warm summer night.

It’s Green…It’s Chrome…It’sa Lamborghini and it’s One ofa Kind!!!!

No matter what kind of car enthusiast you are or what type of car you prefer, whether it be exotics, hot rods, muscle cars..the list goes on and on, there is alwaysa certain amount of personalization that goes into your particular passion. Evenpurists, who keep every nut and bolt exactly how the factory intended it, have somelittle piece of personalization hidden somewhere. This is part of making your caryour own. For some, it is as simple as something hanging from the mirror. Forothers, it is a little more than that.

Meet Marc Cavallo. He fits the second category and wants his cars to be a littlemore. It is not enough to drive a factory Lime Green Lamborghini Gallardo.Nope…Marc likes to make a statement and now drives a Green Chrome and BlackLamborghini Gallardo. You read that right. Chrome!!!

The first part of this story starts with the fact that Marc is 17 years old. That’s right,17! And, in the short time he has been able to drive, this is not his first exotic car.Marc has previously owned an Audi R8 and a Nissan GTR. Definitely not yourtypical high school student’s standard mode of transportation.

Marcs latest acquisition, a 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo, came from the factorypainted the famous Lime Green which, in its own right, is pretty eye catching. But,as stated earlier, Marc likes his cars to be his own and he had a vision of what hewanted his Lambo to look like. Marc envisioned a totally unique ride with a finishthat nobody else in the USA would have.

For most, the thought of painting an already perfect Lamborghini is sacrilege.Stripping the paint that Italy intended, just to make a statement, seems like a lot ofwork for little return. Well, that is why Marc enlisted the help of Sean Tomlin andhis team at Designer Wraps. Instead of painting his Gallardo, Marc wanted the theentire car “wrapped” in chrome. Marc said “I wanted the car to look like chrome. Ihad seen similar things done to cars overseas, but nobody was doing it in the states. So, I contacted Designer Wraps and told them what I wanted. It was a brand newconcept but Sean said they could get it done. That is how the idea started.”

The process Marc chose with Designer Wraps allows him to customize his carwithout compromising the original factory finish. And, the best part? It is com-pletely reversible. When Marc decides on a change or to part with the Lambo, all ittakes is a little elbow grease and presto….factory original. Why anyone wouldchange this rolling work of art would be a mystery, but it could be done.

The master mind behind this master piece is Sean Tomlin, owner of DesignerWraps (www.designerwraps.com). Sean told ECR that while vinyl wrapping cars forcustomization or commercial purposes has been around for a while, chromewrapping is brand new in the United States. As a matter of fact, Marc’s Lambo isthe very first color tinted chrome wrapped car in the USA. The process Sean and histeam used to get the tinted green and chrome effect is something that Sean holds asa close secret and refers to it as his “Secret Sauce”. Sean added “This is the first ofit’s kind in our country and, while it was hard work, the end result was worth theeffort.”

Wrapping an entire car in this special material is labor intensive and takes skill andpatience. But, this is what Designer Wraps does and they are the best at what theydo….hands down. The process of wrapping chrome is much more difficult than thestandard vinyl wrap because it is a totally different material than the standard vinyl.“This material does not stretch like vinyl. To get it right, you have to know thespecial tricks….it is a lot of work.” added Sean.

To add that special finishing touch, Sean and the Designer Wraps team finished theroof and door jams of the Gallardo in Matte Black which was the perfect match toset off the stunning chrome green body.

The end result of this transformation is simply amazing. To look at the Lambocoming down the road is like looking into the future. The finished product looksexactly like green chrome and it is hard to believe this is a vinyl coating. And let’sface it, is not every day you see a 17 year old driving an all chrome Lamborghini. As a matter of fact, the only way to see this would be to see Marc since his Lambois one of a kind.

Marc loves the look of the Lambo and it has exceeded his expectations. With thelooks that Designer Wraps created, along with the Fabspeed Exhaust that Marc hadinstalled, this Lambo has been taken to a whole new level of customization.

Marc will be a senior this year and should have no problem finding a date for theprom. He will definately be the brightest and baddest peackock in the parking lotthanks to his vision and the team at Designer Wraps that made it a reality.
