ekolah antara tempat pelajar sentiasa menghabiskan
aktiviti harian mereka untuk menimba ilmu. Secara
amnya, ilmu tidak terhad kepada pelajaran melalui
silibus atau buku sematamata, tetapi ia merangkumi
aspek menyeluruh termasuk dalam konteks
keselamatan dan kesihatan harian mereka.
Justeru, Hospital Pakar KPJ Tawakkal baru-baru ini
menganjurkan program Keselamatan dan Kesihatan di
Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Chiao Nan (SJKC
Chiao Nan), Kuala Lumpur. Program itu bertujuan
memberi kesedaran dan pendedahan mengenai aspek
keselamatan dan kesihatan di sekolah kepada warga
sekolah itu khususnya pelajar.
Pelbagai aktiviti menarik diadakan seperti ceramah
keselamatan, ceramah kesihatan, kuiz dan ruang
pameran keselamatan dan kesihatan, mini aerobik serta
mini permainan.
Program bermula dengan ceramah keselamatan
bertajuk Hazard at School oleh Pegawai Keselamatan
bahaya, kaedah mengenal pasti bahaya, kesannya
terhadap manusia dan persekitaran serta langkah
kawalan. Selain itu, pelajar turut diberi ilmu menangani
keselamatan kebakaran antaranya mendedahkan
Ketua Pegawai Fisioterapi Hospital Pakar KPJ
Tawakkal Siti Suraiya Yusa yang menekankan
mengenai ergonomik iaitu peraturan bekerja bertujuan
memastikan sesuatu peralatan, kemudahan, proses

Editorial Reviews
Review
"… written superbly and is very easy to read and understand.
Professor Dhillon is an international authority in this field. It has the
most up-to-date comprehensive literature survey and bibliography in
addition to facts and figures as related in each of topics covered in
each of the chapters. The problem sets are very valuable for
students and practitioners. This book provides a comprehensive
treatment of the subject and is extremely useful to not only the
undergraduate and graduate students of various engineering
disciplines but also is very useful to the researchers and practicing
safety and human factors professionals."
—Dr. Subramanyam Naidu Rayapati, IBM, Austin, Texas, USA
"… reports safety and human factors in engineering in very well-
designed and organized content. … presents basic mathematical
concepts for analyzing safety and human errors in systems through
examples along with their solutions."
— Dr. Kouroush Jenab, Society of Reliability Engineering-Ottawa
Chapter, Ontario, Canada
"Professor Dhillon's approach is to combine coverage of safety and
human error into a single volume and thus eliminate the need for
readers to consult many different and diverse sources for
information about both disciplines."
