As it turns out American Girl does NOT like to give out much information about their store!! I found this interview required all my interviewing skills to try and get some good details. So I can’t tell you who will be the next American Girl or what new ideas they are working on I can tell you some pretty neat facts about the history of American Girl. I hope you enjoy and as always…Happy Reading! American Girl was started WAY back in 1986. The company’s main offices are in Wisconsin and the first American Girl Store was opened in Chicago. They quickly followed up that store with another store in New York and then Los Angeles. The store in Natick has been around for seven years now and their newest store is in Nashville Tennessee. It is out of the Wisconsin office that they come up with all the ideas like the different themes and decide what the next American Girl will be like and write the books and movies that go along with the different girls. All 16 American Girl stores are a little different and Chicago and New York are still the biggest stores which they call flagship stores but they all have some of the same things. Such as the hair salon, the restaurant and private rooms for birthday parties. Mr. Galante said everyday there are memorable moments at the Natick store. There are birthday parties, new products coming out and special events all the time. Mr Galante didn’t have a favorite girl since he likes all of them so much but his favorite part of his job is being able to make little girls very happy. When I asked him what he could tell me about the upcoming 2016 girl of the year he told me I just had to wait until January 1st to find out. So readers I guess that means we all have to. But you can trust me that when January 1st comes around you can read ALL about the new girl right here at the Woodward Weekly News.

Woodward Weekly SportsThis is a VERY special sports section as we highlight our fist Woodward girl athlete! That honor goes to Amelia Bhisitkul! Amelia is a cheerleader and a soccer player! Her soccer team is called the "Dancing Stars" because they like to dance. Amelia started playing soccer because she liked kicking things and she can't do that in her house! Her favorite position to play is goalie because they can be the hero of the game !Speaking of being a hero, Eduardo Rodriguez is becoming quite the big deal for the RedSox! In a mostly BAD season so far new comer E-Rod
