Lakewood Elementary PAC
To all the new and returning
students we would like to
welcome you back to school! It
has been a beautiful summer
and we are excited for the
2015/16 school year. We have
411 students this year! With
lots of exciting activities and
fundraising plans we hope
everyone in the community
can get involved in making it
one of our best years yet.
PAC stands for Parent Advisory
Council and every parent/
guardian of a child in
Lakewood is a member. Our
role as a PAC is to support the
staff and students by creating
a healthy learning
environment. We do this
through parent participation
and funding of various
activities and supplies that
benefit the student body as a
whole.
PAC meetings are held on the
first Tuesday of each month at
7pm in the library.
Everyone is
welcome to attend.
We are always interested in what you have to say so please feel free to join us

250-474-1618 [email protected] A Safe Arrival system is used to protect the children in our attendance area. All students are included in this program as a safety measure. Whenever your child is going to be late or absent, please call or email
safe arrival to notify the school any time after 6:00 p.m. If we don’t hear from you, we will call you to ensure they are accounted for. Children arriving after the second bell must go to the kitchen to get a late slip. If they arrive after volunteers have left, they must be signed in at the office by a parent or guardian. Please ensure you note the child’s first and last name, division, teacher and dates they will be absent or late.

PAC Executive
We want to remind parents to be conscious of the environment when packing lunches. Last year, we were very successful in going to ‘litter-less’ lunches for our earth week festivities. Whenever possible, we’d like to continue with this trend.
Environmental and Safety We are complying with the
CRD ban on kitchen waste and as such, compostable bins have been placed
throughout the school.
S A F E T Y
A teacher is on duty at 7:45 a.m., therefore, students should not arrive before that time as there is no direct supervision. As well, students are not to enter the school building unless given permission by a duty
supervisor or teacher.

Any clothing that is in the lost and found bin at the front that is not labelled will be donated weekly. Please label all your children’s belongings and check this bin regularly.
