Dear Parents,

This is the first newsletter of another exciting year at the TX Campus! It was wonderful to welcome our new families to the TX community on Tuesday then to say hello again to our returning families on Wednesday. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are ready for the year ahead. I would like to invite all parents to attend an information evening on September 10th. This session is very important for you as your child’s class teacher will talk about routines and events happening in the class as well as explaining more about the curriculum. Details about the event are as follows:

Learning Support Assistant BIS is seeking a second Learning Support Assistant to join the Learning Support Department at AP2 secondary campus. Learning Support at AP2 consists of in-class support, study skills development and homework support for students across the age range with a range of mild learning difficulties. Qualifications and experience are useful, but enthusiasm, teamwork and an ability to relate to young people are es-sential. There is the possibility of splitting this post between two people working on different days. If you are interested in this post, please send brief details of yourself by email to Richard Dyer ([email protected]) by Friday 5th September and we will contact you with further information.

We require an adaptable, presentable person with good inter-personal skills to communicate with new fami-lies applying to the secondary school. The position involves all aspects of admissions, from initial enquiry, through to presenting the school to visiting families, student testing and final admission arrangements. The successful candi-date will be a native English speaker with good communication and IT skills and a willingness to work flexibly within a British style school. If you are interested in this post, please send a copy of your resume to Tracey Brownrigg ([email protected]) by Friday 5

th September and we will contact you with further information

We have a very fun and musical school year coming up. This half term we will be hosting the annual TX Musical Coffee Morning. New music clubs are starting in a few weeks, such as recorder club with Ms Jess, brass club with Ms Heather, and the existing orchestra and choirs. We will also be offering some brand new musical instrument lessons to children from years 3 – 6: clarinet, saxophone and cello. TX Music has a new blog for you to follow. Please visit www.xmusic2014-2015.blogspot.com to find out more about music in TX. You will see a video featuring our new clarinet and saxophone teacher Mr Dung performing to the children in assembly today.

The teachers have been back for over a week now, busily preparing for the new term and their new class, but … school hadn’t started! School is all about the children and so it was great to welcome our new children on Tuesday this week and then to see familiar faces return on Wednesday, as the 2014-2015 school year got underway. During the New Pupil Orientation, I spoke about the importance of communication between school and home. At TX, we use our blogs a great deal to do this. In order to help you check your child’s class blog there are two tools; Follow by Email and the Translate Button. To find out more about these please check my blog, or ask your child’s class teacher.

On my blog (ianbattersby.blogspot.com) this week you will find the following post:

Welcome to our new TX Families A New Term, A New Start Finer Diners – MP3
