Golden-Oldies is a registered charity that was started in 2008 by West Country musicman Grenville Jones. Over the years the work of the Charity has grown with older isolatedpeople and the introduction of FUN daytime Sing&Smile sessions across England andWales. Prior to Lockdown in March 2020 the ‘Goldies’ work had grown to the pointwhere it was running 220 daytime sessions led by 73 dedicated freelance leaders. TheCharity is based upon organising events that folk can look forward to attending and atthe heart of every event is always good old fashioned singalong!

Goldies sessions are based on the well-loved hits of the 60s and onwards – Sir Cliff,Cilla, Petula, Sir Tom, Dusty and many, many others. Just prior to Lockdown the Charityheld a hugely successful event at a community pub in North Bristol (pictured above)and an open session in South Wales featuring Bollywood music and dance.

The Coronavirus stopped all sessions and in April new sessions ONLINE were introducedwhich immediately took off. These have been developed as months have gone by tothe point where there are two regular online fun Goldies sessions at 11am on Tuesdayand Thursday of each week. These are taken by Rachel Parry and Cheryl Davies andare available freely to access via YouTube and on Facebook, which means they can bere-viewed and enjoyed at any time. It’s easy to join in, the song words are printed onscreen and EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
