watched every day •  There are over 300 million

person accounts on the site •  Free to join •  They make $1 per thousand

page views

Metacafe

•  Founded in July 2002 •  There are more than 53 million

videos streaming on the site •  40 million monthly viewers •  Specializes in short-form

content •  Emerging talents and

established Hollywood celebrities

•  Also free to join the site •  Their amount of revenue was not

available but they also pay out money to users who upload their videos

Break

•  Site was founded in 1998

•  Premier online entertainment for guys ages 18-35

•  Over 12 million videos and 5 million picture views Daily

•  They pay users for their user-generated and animated short videos

•  They don’t disclose their profits

Kimbo Slice

•  Originally a bouncer at a strip club

•  Started making street fight videos

•  Seen by UFC

•  Given contracts for fights worth over $500,00

Rebecca Black

•  Came up with the song “Friday”

•  Over 128 million views on YouTube

•  She receives 68% of every dollar that YouTube receive

•  Songs are also being sold on iTunes

Shane Dawson

•  Has 3 different channels on YouTube

•  Makes comedy skits and music video parodies

•  Makes $315,000 from his videos

•  From 2009-2010 he had almost 432 million views

Tay Zonday

•  First was seen with the song “Chocolate Rain”

•  Has been on Best Week Ever, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Maury

•  Makes about $6,000 to $8,000 per month from the video
