Bhakta Alvin
How long have you been in the Counsellor System?
I have been part of the Counsellor System for about a year now.
What have you learnt since joining the System?
Humility. The counsellor system gives one the opportunity to learn and inculcate this most important quality as it provides a proper structure where devotee relationships, in particular between senior and junior, may be nurtured. Through the fortnightly meetings I also get to meet so many wonderful devotees and hear their many deep and amazing realisations in Krsna consciousness – No chance of becoming puffed up in such association!
How do you fit in attending regular meetings with family & work/study?
That can be quite tricky, especially in the midst of an ever-increasing pile of university work and family-related plans. Stress can get the better of you. However, there’s nothing better than the association of devotees to rejuvenate oneself. There is no loss in chanting and hearing about Krsna. On the contrary we have everything to gain.
Would you recommend the System to others?
Yes, definitely!
Bhakta Alvin is part of Jai Nitai dasa’s single men mentee group
Bhaki Priya Radhika dd
How long have you been in the Counsellor System?
2 years
What have you learnt since joining the System?
A lot! I have learnt about having loving Vaishnava relationships with friends, relatives and even strangers, and to see Krishna in all aspects of life, during happiness and distress. I have also got to learn about Deity worship by being engaged in pujari service.
How do you fit in attending regular meetings with family & work/study?
It is easy because I love going! It requires some time management that we get taught about during the meetings. We all need a break from routine daily schedules, and this is a great way to do it - by regular association with wonderful devotees..
Would you recommend the System to others?
Definitely - you don’t know what you are missing until you join in!
Bhakti Priya Radhika dd and her husband (Sacinandana Karuna dasa) are members of Gaura Kishore dasa and Saumya Radhika dd’s married couples mentee group

“We should be very cautious not to waste a single moment without Krishna consciousness. So we have got so many activities. If we have no activities, then we can polish the floor of the Temple. That is not very difficult. If I am illiterate, I have no interest in reading books, I have no interest in chanting or I cannot do it constantly, then take something and mop over the temple and cleanse the temple. That is also service. It is not that one who is engaged in the Deity worship, he is better engaged, and one who is polishing the
floor, he is less engaged. No. Both of them will get equal benefit. Krishna consciousness is so nice. So find out some business for Krishna. Don’t waste time. That is the perfection of Krishna consciousness..”
(Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam 1.16.6, Los Angeles, January 3rd 1974 )
