Introduction to ISHA 2019The ISHA 2019 Annual Scientific meeting will build on the foundations of a meeting of scientific excellence which attracts worldwide arthroscopic and open hip surgeons, hip preservation and rehabilitation professionals, to present and exchange their knowledge, best practice and important research results.
The Theme for the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting is “Teamwork” and we are encouraging teams to come together at ISHA 2019 to learn collectively and share the experience of their different integral team roles.
The programme will focus on the best and latest science and will aim to accommodate the needs and interests of everyone with an interest in hip preservation. Each day will have a focus on the different components of the overall strategy necessary in the treatment of simple and complex hip disorders.
Interspersed throughout the programme will be debates, themed seminars which will include interactive course lectures and latest research presentations, instructional courses focusing on the most current and controversial topics in hip preservation and lunchtime workshops hosted by industry. We will plan networking activities within the programme, providing each of you an opportunity to engage on a personal level with peers and thought leaders from around the world.

Principles in Hip Preservation Pre-Conference CourseFollowing the success of the ISHA 2018 10th Anniversary Conference, which introduced the pre-conference programme day at the Annual Scientific Meeting, we are continuing with this activity at ISHA 2019.
For the Madrid Conference, the pre-conference day has been extended to a full day programme focusing on the basic principles of hip preservation from a regional and discipline perspective.
The programme on Wednesday 16 October will consist of 3 parallel regional streams: Iberian and Latin American (in Spanish), English speaking and Asia region. The 4th parallel stream will consider the principles in hip preservation from the physiotherapy perspective.
Each group will hear from and join in discussions from experts from their region. The afternoon session will see the groups coming together for a Case Discussion plenary session.
The course aims to introduce healthcare professionals entering the discipline, or to those who would like to refresh their knowledge by providing a foundation learning programme, on the basic principles in hip preservation led by international experts.
This course has a separate registration fee to the ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting.

The Casino de Madrid is an iconic members club dating back to 1836, when a group of young intellectuals, tired of socio-political hustling, decided to find a quiet place where they could meet in peace and harmony. The Casino began in a series of modest buildings, moving sporadically until, in 1910, it settled in the luxurious premises it now occupies.
Here is your opportunity to experience this beautiful private members’ club for yourself Guests will commence the evening with cocktails in the stunning Patio Central before moving to the beautiful Salon Real for an exquisite three course meal prepared with the best available ingredients. Coaches will be provided to the Casino de Madrid, which will depart from the Melia Castilla Hotel at 19:30.
