1 FLAMINIA | ISH 2019 Flaminia confirms its role as design ambassador for excellent Italian products at ISH 2019, the biennial international trade event of Frankfurt dedicated to bathroom design and HVAC technology, running from 11 to 15 March. In actual fact, in its recent past, Flaminia has contributed significantly to transforming the bathroom concept and making it a vital element in the art of good living. Once again, Flaminia reveals the complexity of its product offering, thanks to an extraordinary design vocation and consolidated collaborations with acclaimed contemporary designers. The brand has come to represent a lifestyle which is immediately recognizable and appreciated worldwide, now being recounted at ISH 2019 with volumes whose geometrical component is particularly pronounced. The exhibition space designed by Giulio Cappellini, 15 year-long art director of the brand, invites visitors to explore the Flaminia world from various angles: through the large display windows or from inside, in a sequence of different atmospheres. From the immense interiors typical of the 18th century aristocratic tradition to contemporary projects which provide a satisfying wellness experience even in the case of space restrictions, the bathroom theme characterizes the entire display and reveals the multiple interpretations of this concept. The minimalist austerity of white marble, now making a comeback as a ceramic material, clads the volumes in an all over effect and is alternated with refined interiors of a contemporary vintage spirit in pale green. Poised between iconic collections and new product releases, a fascinating and engaging story unfolds in this visual scan. In an endless play of stylistic references and innovative solutions, Flaminia showcases the new Madre collection designed by Angeletti and Ruzza, whose forms reinterpret the pre-rationalist language of the thirties’ architectural movement, bringing it up to date with lines and proportions that are decidedly contemporary. Instead, it is the Baroque style which transpires from the Settecento washbasin signed by Giulio Cappellini: inspired by the marble holy water fonts typically seen in churches of that period, and which reiterates the generous proportions of the basin and the external motif of regular grooves. With a strong propensity for design projects, Flaminia has chosen Pietraluce ® , a highly technological composite material, which feels and looks like ceramic, and can be used to produce large-sized objects, such as the three App bath tubs of simple flowing lines, presented in various glossy and matt finishes. At Frankfurt, the company dedicates space to a multitude of products such as the recently launched NudaSlim washbasins and the NudaFlat console by Ludovica e Roberto Palomba showcased in their new colours. Also on display are the App, Pass, Nile, Bonola, Fontana, Saltodacqua, Miniwash, WaterDrop, Io 2.0 and Bloom collections, along with bestselling products such as Link, Spin and Monoroll which continue to be on-trend, also thanks to their colour palette, already used by Flaminia back in the sixties. Flaminia confirms its role as design ambassador for excellent Italian products at ISH 2019, the biennial international trade event of Frankfurt dedicated to bathroom design and HVAC technology, running from 11 to 15 March.

With a strong propensity for design projects, Flaminia has chosen Pietraluce®, a highly technological composite material, which feels and looks like ceramic, and can be used to produce large-sized objects, such as the three App bath tubs of simple flowing lines, presented in various glossy and matt finishes.

At Frankfurt, the company dedicates space to a multitude of products such as the recently launched NudaSlim washbasins and the NudaFlat console by Ludovica e Roberto Palomba showcased in their new colours. Contemporary living trends have prompted Flaminia to probe the sphere of matt colours borrowed from the automotive industry and fashion references for application on washbasins, WC and bidets. The bathroom reveals an unprecedented tactile dimension as well as a visual one, to offer an authentic sensorial experience. The new palette shows a preference for the three-dimensionality of colours such as Argilla, Rosso Rubens and Petrolio. Petrolio is a deep, intense colour that is ideal for bathrooms, capable of taking the mind to exotic, far-off places. A versatile shade which teams up easily with other natural materials such as wood. Rosso Rubens is an elegant and passionate colour, which lends itself perfectly to both modern contexts and decors played out in a retro style. It gives the room a strong personality along with a refined and sensual atmosphere. Argilla is a neutral, warm and subtle shade of great versatility, which is perfect for refined decors. This shade coordinates well with numerous colours, from blue to white, to create stylistic combos of great elegance.

The WCs on display are all equipped with the goclean® system which revolutionizes toilet cleaning: the elimination of the inner rim, which makes the internal surface of the WC fully visible, and a controlled flush make this system more practical to use and reduce water consumption. A central position on the stand is also dedicated to the Plus system, a drainage system designed for back to wall pans purposely studied for adaptation to existing drainage systems, making this an excellent solution in bathroom renovation projects. Avant-garde technical solutions like these, combined with an elevated stylistic awareness, enable Flaminia to deliver the highest standards of comfort.

ISH 2019 is also an opportunity to illustrate the new projects from FLAMINIA LIGHTING, the company division engaged

in lighting technology. Alongside Saltodacqua and Make-Up, the newly released Lux wall and ceiling fixtures designed by Patrick Norguet are also being presented. The ceramic material is shaped to create refined lighting fixtures which once again reveal the company’s capacity for valorising the potential of this material and the manufacturing quality of the Made in Italy cachet.

Mirrors, tapware, towel rails, accessories and furnishing elements, such as the recently launched BrickSlim ceramic shelves are all signed by Flaminia to offer an extraordinary lifestyle experience, which can be discovered in Frankfurt by stepping through the impressive monumental metal doors produced by LINVISIBLE.

By demonstrating an on-going commitment to the definition of functional solutions and by successfully anticipating bathroom furnishing trends, Flaminia continues to produce entirely in Italy thanks to a perfectly successful formula which combines the highest expression of design, represented by names such as Jasper Morrison, Nendo and Paola Navone, and the world’s top manufacturing quality, that of Italy.

New Colours

Drawing its inspirations from Flemish frescoes, Flaminia enriches its palette with new colours, finely calibrated and yet very distinctive. Argilla (Clay) is a neutral, warm, deep and intense colouravailable for washbasins, shower trays and the bowls and bidets in the App, Link and Bonola lines. This colour can be combined with collections featuring other colours from the Flaminia palette. Petrolio (Petroleum), a colour reserved for washbasins and shower trays, is deep and intense and can give personality to an entire room. Rosso Rubens (Rubens Red), inspired from the colour paletteof the great Flemish painter, is reserved for washbasins and shower trays.Three colours that differ greatly from one another but all stem from Flaminia’s incessant R&D work and its focus on new, contemporary solutions.

Madre No mere stylistic exercise, Madre is the outcome of an extra-ordinary creative effort, drawing inspiration from the history of Italian design to breathe new life into the habits of contem-porary living. This is the vision that accompanied the birth of Madre, the new collection designed by Angeletti-Ruzza for Flaminia, a collection that has all it takes to become a com-pany icon. Italian rationalist architecture, as epitomised by the works by Piero Bottoni, permeates the culture of good design and the collective memory, and serves as the meeting point betwe-en the creativity of designers Angeletti-Ruzza and the manu-facturing expertise of Flaminia. In this exchange, the Madre collection took shape. The elegant harmony of lines and pro-portions satisfies both stylistic and functional needs and, at the same time, reveals the company’s ability to meet any pro-duction challenge, no matter how demanding. The stylistic features of the past do not give shape to the ele-ments in this collection, but suggest a contemporary interpre-tation, and, without any unnecessary frills, provide a pleasing decorative component in the subdued profiles that add a gentle touch to the monolithic presence of the washbasin, or in the vaguely sinuous lines of the toilet bowl and the bidet.

Up-to-the-minute design draws inspiration from classic style to create a paradoxical element of break with the past: the past and the present feed off one another in a perfect dia-lectic relationship, such as the one between the virtuous thin-king of the designer and the outstanding craftsmanship of Flaminia.

Flaminia, a brand leader on the market for superbly designed bathroom fittings, continues to be a protagonist of home living with projects of great innovative and stylistic impact. Having contributed to transforming bathrooms from mere utility spaces into oases of wellness, also thanks to collaborations with authoritative contemporary designers, the company now makes its debut in the lighting industry with the Flaminia Lighting brand. With its distinctive charm and versatility, ceramic has been shaped by the master craftsmen of the Civita Castellana manufacturing district to produce a collection of lighting fixtures. An uncommon use of this traditional material has led to the creation of some highly appealing products, characterized by a vast spectrum of colours, which has always been one of the characteristic approaches of Flaminia to interior design.

Lux, by Patrick Norguet

Lux encapsulates the beauty of ceramics, the charm of light and the know-how of a factory. "I wanted to design an authentic object with exacting standards, which responds to multiple needs and uses".

Lux reminds us, perhaps unconsciously, of those early twentieth-century lamps, which we come across from time to time in locations such as factories. Lux can be fitted to the wall or ceiling in order to light a variety of spaces: bathrooms, hotel corridors, bedrooms, or restaurants. It works perfectly in both public and private spaces.

With its deliberately simple design, Lux is the perfect light source.

The ceramic ware labelled Made in Italy explores new ambits of design and innovation to make its debut in the world of lighting technology
