Most luminaires are designed andoptimized to perform as a single unit.However an application requires a systemor set of luminaires. With Holophane’s open reflector designs,Luminaire Dirt Depreciation is dramaticallylower than with aluminum or acrylicreflectors. Glass is an inert material thatresists taking on the electrostatic chargesthat attract dirt. With the heat that isgenerated by the lamp, a constant flow of hot air creates a “venturi effect” thatminimizes dirt buildup. Unlike othermaterials, glass can be easily cleaned andbrought back to 100% efficiency. Theadvantages of glass over other reflectormaterials are as follows:
