    The Indian School of Business is a business school in Mohali and Hyderabad , India . It offers anMBA-equivalent Post Graduate Programme and a doctoral-equivalent Fellow Programme inManagement, as well as short-duration and part-time executive education programs for middleand senior management. The school was founded by two senior executives of McKinsey andCompany and is governed by a board comprising both Indian and non-Indian businessmen.

    ISB maintains close associations with Wharton , the Kellogg School of Management , and theLondon Business School , referred to as "founding associate schools." Additional associateschools later included MIT Sloan and The Fletcher School .[2]

    The school's Post Graduate Programe was ranked #20 in the world in the 2012 Financial Times Global MBA Rankings, down from #13

    In December 2011 ISB announced its accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of

    Founding and other Associate Schools

    ISB has partnered with different educational institutions to share resources and bring in globalmanagement best practices. While the Kellogg School of Management and Wharton School areits founding associate schools, the London Business School , the MIT Sloan School of Management and the Fletcher School , Tufts University are its other associate schools [80] .

    The school forged academic associations with the Kellogg School of Management , NorthwesternUniversity and the Wharton School , University of Pennsylvania in 1997 to provide for a sharingof expertise and academic resources. In November 2000, ISB tied up with the London BusinessSchool to collaborate for sharing faculty and research ideas, and help develop ISB's Executive

    Additionally, in April 2010 ISB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the MITSloan School of Management to develop two new institutes at ISBs new Mohali facility - theMunjal Global Manufacturing Institute and the Punj Lloyd Institute of Physical InfrastructureManagement [82] . Later that year, in December 2010, the school also signed a MoU with theFletcher School , Tufts University for the setting up of the Bharti Institute of Public Policy at itsMohali facility. The collaboration entails faculty exchange opportunities, curriculumdevelopment, research and teaching support, research projects, joint executive educationprogrammes, workshops and conferences [83] .

    In April 2011, ISB extended its association with the Wharton School to develop the MaxInstitute of Healthcare Management at Mohali [84] .

    Executive education

    In January 2011, ISB signed a MoU with beverage giant Coca-Cola to set up a Retail Academyat its Hyderabad campus which will provide a certificate programme in strategic retailmanagement (CSRM) [85] . The six-month CSRM programme, a combination of classroom and

    on-the-job learning, is especially designed for senior personnel in multi-brand retail with 6-8years experience including in food and beverage, consumer durables, fashion, home decor,

    jewellery, books, and other sectors like FMCG or those retail vertical of IT who deal withretailers on a day-to-day basis [86] . The applicant should have a Bachelors degree or anequivalent qualification, possessing a minimum of four years of full-time work [87] .

    On April 13, 2012, the school announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with a Karachi-based business school, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), toprovide executive education in Pakistan. While ISB design and deliver the programmes, IBAwill be responsible for its marketing and promotion [88] . The first programme is scheduled tocommence in June this year. The Centre of Executive Education (CEE) at ISB plans to offer 10programmes in the first year. The course offerings will include open or short-durationprogrammes that are driven by research, custom-designed programmes or specialized coursesdevised to cater to specific needs of a particular organization as well as workshops and seminars[89] . The initial areas of focus will be family business, entrepreneurship, business leadership,strategy and related domains. There will also be programmes on Public Private Partnership (PPP)[90]

    . Research
