What we need

We need to know about the SPC decision; In case timelines for DP are dramatically

changed (e.g., selection at the end 2010) , the PPLC has to re-define activities (prototype not feasible);

In case the selection is in the summer 2011: What is the agreement between ESA and national

agencies (NAs)?? It seems that the shortening of the DP comes from the NAs request to avoid waste of money on projects that will not continue.

Is there any agreement among NAs to not fund hardware??

What we need

In case ASI will fund the prototype activities: Is 1.5 yr from now enough? To deliver a telescope demonstrator in Jun 2011,

we need to deliver a TOU demonstrator not later than March 2011 (?). I.e. lenses and mechanical structure need to be ready for Dec 2010.

Assuming ordinary times for an industrial contract, we cannot have lenses for Dec 2010.

Can the PPLC rise ESA funds for this? (assuming this is faster with industries) Remind that this situation occurs because the

shrinking of the DP.
