V1 God declares to Israel that He is the one: created them from nothing formed them – His handiwork

He is therefore responsible for their lives.

IntroductionWorld is living in uncertainty and fear.Sadly many believers too are in the same boat.

Believers do not live in the world economy but in Kingdom of God’s economy. There is economy turbulence and lack in God’s economy.Remember, Israel was adequately provided in the wilderness for 40 years. – Ps

Reasons why believers should Not fear: Redeemed them Called them by His name

1. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:2. when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Two excellent promises:

His possession

Promise not limited Israel but also to believers.1.Christ has redeemed us.2.Therefore believers are His possession.3.Believers belong to the Father through Jesus name

V2 - Note the command accompanied with promises

1. Fear of failure

2. Fear of sickness

Fear is a major theme in this section of Isaiah.Chapters 41-44, the Lord tells Israel seven different times not to fear.

Fear is the enemies of faith. When believers fear, they never experience the miracles of God.Satan uses fear as his greatest weapon.God commanded believers not to fear (366x)

3. Fear of economic uncertainty

1. passest through the waters, I will be with thee;through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:

a. Remember the incident in Exodus, Moses led the children of Israel crossed the Red sea.

Children of Israel crossed on dry land.

Pharaoh and his armies, the waters overflowed them and they were drowned.

b. Joshua led Israel across the River Jordan when the river was at flood stage. – Jos 1What made these miracles a reality?

God’s Presence – “I will be with thee”

2. when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

This literal promised fulfilled in Daniel.

The three Hebrew children in Dan 3:25-27

1.Shadrach2.Meshach3.Abednigo

Jesus the 4th man

I apply this literally to the financial crisis.

1. Thou shalt not be burned – not bankrupt.

2. Flame kindle upon thee – preserved from financial crisis.

ConclusionNot denying the reality of an economic crisis

Denying there is an economic crisis does not eliminate the consequences of its effects.

As believers do we put our trust. on the government or economy of this world or on the Almighty God “El-Shadai

Are we living in the kingdom of this world orin the kingdom of God?

If we live in the kingdom of God, then fear not and see the Lord’s promises become a reality.
