Is the study of unidentified flying objects(UFO's) and Aliens a pseudo or a

true science?

What is an UFO?

It is a flying or apparently flying object of an unknown nature, especially one suspected to have been sent by extraterrestrial beings.

Many people around the world believe in the existence of UFO's, one of them is Michio Kaku, who is a well respected theoretical physicist who graduated from Harvard in 1968.

Beleivers

There are some people who believe in ufos and aliens like Kaku, not only does he believe in ETs, he also lays down a framework for their existence in his numerous books.

Kaku

In his book Hyperspace, Kaku points out that there are at least hundreds of thousands of galaxies in the universe, which contains countless planets, thus, there is a very high probability that many alien civilizations exist.

Kaku argues "humans are like fish in a pond, only aware of the environment around them, not realizing there is a huge world outside the pond."

Peter Beckinsale

Another researcher Peter Beckinsale also supports the idea of the existence of UFOs.

He found an article related to a UFO crash in Aurora Texas in 1897 and that was supported by numerous sources and eye witnesses and they all said the same thing.

Against Ufos and aliens

Despite all the evidence supporting the concept of having extraterrestrial creatures living around us, many scientists opposed it.

Thousands of photos of UFO's have turned out to be fakes, for example, a UFO might be a balloon, a model or a computer created image, that are all simple to do.

Example

An example supporting the falseness of this existence of such creatures, is the man who once told that he was woken up in the night by the sound of a neighbor's dog whining, and a strange feeling.

He ventured outside and saw a strange light in the sky. But in the end he himself claimed that he had strange

experiences and an interest generally in the paranormal.

Conclusion

Arriving at the end and by considering both view points, it would be reasonable to say that the study of the existence of extraterrestrial creature and UFOs is part of a pseudo science, as it does not follow the scientific method.

Why it is a pseudo science?

1)Phenomenon can not be seen or observed by others

2)Phenomenon can not be measured through a well known technique. For example, radio telescopes.

3)Can not be replicated in order that the scientists can observe the event under controlled conditions.

4)When is the phenomenon is seen can not be graphically described.
