With such a small area, it is very easy and convenient to immerse yourself into this food destination and nibble the best of the city’s local food. Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles This museum is originated om Her Majesty Queen Sirikit who has a passion in Thai textiles and would like to have a museum to showcase and preserve them. There is an exhibition like Fit For a Queen: Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Creations by Balmain to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday in 2016. Its highlight is Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s clothes designed by Pier Balmain, the French designer who had been the main designer for 22 years. Assumption Church Its Renaissance style cathedral is one of the oldest and the most beautiful in Thailand built a century ago, designed by French architect. Marbles and color glass were finely selected and shipped om France, Singapore and Italy. Cathedral’s ceiling and walls are decorated with beautiful Fresco. Unfortunately, the church was destroyed by bomb during World War II but later renovated by Christians in Thailand for more than 6 years. The church is open for public visit. Ghost Gate Goodies All the Thai food-lovers must have heard about the Ghost Gate. Once the sun sets, this quarter becomes awake and crowded with Thai and foreign foodies queueing for the must-try dish like Thip Samai Pad Thai or Pad Thai Pratu Phee. And it is not wrong if you love another Pad Thai shop next door too. Whichever tastes right for you is the best! And the one and only street food with one Miche- lin star award cannot be anyone else but Jay Fai. You will love the omelet with giant chunks of crab meat. If you plan to try the food here, come before 5 PM. As the later, the longer queue. You may have to stand for hours. Do not say we did not warn you! YaowaratKnown as Thailand’s Chinatown, Yaowarat is the

largest residence of Chinese community. Lavished with Chinese architecture, it is a large retail and wholesale trade center of consumer products from China as well as general merchandise. Gold shops are lined side by side, showing off

their vivid colorful shop signs. What a sight! However, the ex-travaganza of Yaowarat lies in its scrumptious food on both sides of the street. From bustling food stalls to top-notch restaurants, only well-selected ingredients are used to cook. Yaowarat is naturally crowded with people hungry for tasty street food and this neighborhood becomes even more vibrant during Chinese New Year and Vegetarian Festival.

courtyard during King Rama V’s and remains there until today.

This towering red swing was built for Giant Swing ceremony, a Brahman New Year celebration known as Triyamphawai during December - January. According to Brahman belief, Vishnu would descend from heaven to earth for 10 days. Eventually, during Rama VII’s reign, the ceremony was cancelled but the Giant Swing still stands tall.
