MUSICAL NUMBERS

Fawn Boston-Halter (Choreographer) studied at the University of Iowa, earning degrees in Dance and Elementary Education. She enjoyed performing in City Circle Acting's summer production of Guys and Dolls, and was the Choreography Director for Clear Creek Amana’s High School production of Seussical The Musical. Currently, Fawn is a 1st grade teacher for Clear Creek Amana and teaches Zumba classes at Core Fitness. Fawn is so proud of how hard the cast has worked -Break a leg! Joseph Dobrian (The Old Actor) spent most of his adult life in New York City, where he appeared in several off-Broadway productions, including the American premiere of Henrik Ibsen’s The League of Youth, and his own play, Dr. Monsanto’s Jive Tape. He hosted the TV talk show Hardfire, and made guest appearances on several other programs, including Friends and Seinfeld. He’s the author of the novel Willie Wilden. A collection of his essays, Seldom Right But Never In Doubt, will be available in bookstores in October. His journalism appears in The Wall Street Journal and other publications. Judy Duncan (Musical Director/Pianist) has been the musical director and piano player for many community theater shows. Past credits include RENT, Bye, Bye Birdie, The Music Man, and Legally Blonde The Musical. She has enjoyed getting to know the cast….especially during those harmonica jam sessions. A big thank you to Josh, Fawn, and the cast! You are all "fantastick!" Special thanks to her husband, Len, for being so supportive of her music theater-ness! Kehry Anson Lane (El Gallo) holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Iowa. Locally, he has worked as an actor for Aggravated Assault Ensemble, City Circle, ICCT, Riverside Theatre, Theatre Cedar Rapids, and the University of Iowa Theatre Department. He is also a core member of Fourth Room Theatre. Kehry is grateful to Josh for casting him this lovely production and thanks the cast, crew and orchestra for making this experience a joy. He sends all his love to Rachel and Louisa. Bryan Lawler (Hucklebee) This is Bryan's 8th ICCT production, having performed in Man of La Mancha, Little Shop of Horrors, She Loves Me, The Baker's Wife, South Pacific, My Fair Lady, and Gigi. Bryan is very excited to be working with such a talented cast and crew. Thanks to Jan, Heather, and Ashley for all your support and encouragement; and to Josh for his continued confidence! Regan Loula (The Mute) is very excited to be making her ICCT debut! She will be forever grateful to Josh, Fawn, and her fellow cast members for such a great experience. Regan received her training from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. She recently moved back to the area and is currently an undergrad theatre/history major at the University of Iowa. Favorite roles include Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (The Riverside Theatre's YPC) and Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire (AMDA).

MEET THE CAST AND CREW

Larry Newman (Bellomy) This is Larry’s first ICCT production. Most recently he was seen in City Circle's production of Guys and Dolls. He was born in Southern Cal-ifornia and is a graduate of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion American Musical Theater Workshop. In his younger years he performed in many regional productions, some of which include: Grease, Oliver, Gypsy, Carousel, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, The Pirates of Penzance, A Chorus Line, and Annie. He worked as a sing-er/dancer on cruise ships around the world. He would like to thank Mike and his son Clifton for their love and support! Rebekah Oulton (Lighting Designer) has been involved with theater since she saw her first live show, Fiddler on the Roof, at age four. After spending most of her childhood performing onstage, she discovered after college that she felt more at home backstage. Since then, she has worked as lighting designer, assistant director, or stage manager for countless productions in California and – more recently – as lighting designer for ICCT's productions of White Christmas, Don't Drink the Water, and HONK! She’s delighted to be working with ICCT again for The Fantasticks and hopes you enjoy the show as much as she does. Rich Riggleman (Stage Manager/Set Design) is a retired language arts teacher from Western Iowa, where he directed or acted in over 30 shows with Midwestern Players, the community theatre in Denison. Since moving to Iowa City he has worked on 20 productions at Dreamwell, including directing Playboy of the Western World. He has done 23 plays at ICCT recently directing Last of the Red Hot Lovers. He has also worked with City Circle and Catalyst community theatres. Josh Sazon (Director) has worked on too many shows in the area, both onstage and off. Stephen Stonebraker (Mortimer) is a 27 year old young man living in Iowa City. Along with his vast interest in theatre, Stephen also has a deep passion for creative writing. He is in the process of trying to publish his second book; a mystery/suspense novella The Best of Friends. When not involved in a theatrical production, you can usually find Stephen at the gym lifting weights or rooting for the Hawkeyes on the wrestling mat. He is excited to be a part of Iowa City Community Theatre and hopes to do many more shows in the future. Nicolas Wagner (Matt) This is Nicolas' first production with Iowa City Community Theatre. He has a had a blast with this small but awesome cast. This is also Nicolas' first lead role. He feels that he has learned a lot over this process and that he has improved as an actor. This experience has strengthened his desire to go in to musical theatre for a career. Nicolas would like to thank his parents for their constant love and support. He hopes everyone enjoys the show! Mallory Widmer (Luisa) is a native of Washington. She has performed in a number of musicals over the years, most recently in Washington Community Theater's production of The Music Man. While she realizes that this show does not the provide the thrill of performing Shipoopi night after night, she is still grateful for this opportunity to perform with a delightful cast and to wear frilly dresses onstage.

The reviewers have spoken!

Come see ICCT in action for

yourself!

“If you have a chance, definitely take the time to see this classic American comedy. ICCT has done an excellent job bringing the hilarity to stage.” The Foreigner — Iowa Theatre Blog, Matthew Falduto

“The actors take on their roles with skill, affection and warmth, and if you don’t feel good when you leave the theatre after this show, you must have had a very bad day.” Sarah Plain and Tall — Iowa Theatre Blog, Vicki Krajewski

“ICCT restored my faith in this classic play… Overall, what I was

struck with most was how well the cast worked together. If any piece of the puzzle does not fit, the picture will be incomplete. Each actor successfully fit their piece into the puzzle, which provided an evening of excellent theatre for Iowa City.“ Bus Stop — Iowa Theatre Blog, Matthew Fladuto

“Of all local community theatre productions I’ve been to in the last few years, this production ranks as one my absolute favorites… Do yourself, your community theatre volunteers, and your diaphragm a good turn: go and see it.” Drowsy Chaperone — Iowa Theatre Blog, Andrew Juhl

“I was lucky enough to have a 9-year-old along with me for the review, and she — a little girl who can barely sit through an episode of over-stimulating Dis-ney Channel tripe before getting bored - sat motion-less and riveted throughout the entire final act. Well done, Agatha and ICCT.” And Then There Were None — Iowa Theatre Blog, Andrew Juhl

“ICCT’s production of Bus Stop directed by Luis Sierra is one of the good ones, and in many places one of the great ones… I have the utmost respect for those who can resist their egos and present the story simply, wonderfully and effectively.” Bus Stop — Iowa Theatre Blog, Matthew Brubaker

“This is a good show. Top to bottom.” Last of the Red Hot Lovers

— Iowa Theatre Blog, Brad Quinn

“The orchestra was more than up to the task. I am always amazed at the amount of talent we have in our community.” Camelot — Iowa Theatre Blog, Matthew Falduto

“...Everyone — literally everyone — who appears onstage in this piece does themselves (and ICCT) proud.” Baker’s Wife — Iowa Theatre Blog, Andrew Juhl

“Because of its age and subject, it is impos-sible to do this play well without a love and respect for the characters. It was obvious that the actors all had a great respect for the story they were telling.” The Shadow Box —Iowa Theatre Blog, Matthew Brubaker

“The dances were so mind-blowing that I wished I could DVR them back and play them over to take in every detail.” Wonderful Town —Iowa Theatre Blog, Meghan D’Souza

We can help your business get broader exposure in Iowa City and Johnson County. This is usually done by advertising in our playbills, but can also be by sponsorship of shows, elements of shows, or specific actors.

We are always in need of new and interested individuals for help at the community theatre in a number of different capacities: acting, directing, back stage, and at the front of the house. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us at [email protected]
