Zakos Software proudly announces that ZakosNavTools® is now available through its office. What is the ZakosNavTools ®? It is an MS VB6 Windows based program, developed after the experience gained on board tankers, Lpg carriers, Bulk carriers. It has been designed for both fleet and individual use, suitable for Rhumb Line, Great Circle and Composite Sailing calculations. Where the time is precious, ZakosNavTools comes to assist Deck Officers, to complete the Sailing calculation swiftly and accurately. ZakosNavTools is a user-friendly Sailing Calculation program for Cargo and Tanker ships, Marine Surveyors and Ships΄ Officers. As well as Sailing calculation is a comprehensive set of Sailing tools are included together with utilities to complement and refine the calculation. ZakosNavTools is controlled by easy to use Menus and Dialogs for easy operation.

2 MAIN SCREEN: The following screen will appear when the program starts.

RHUMB SAILING CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Rhumb Sailing) clicked the following screen will appear

Type the required positions for [ From / To ] for Lat / N/S Long / E/W Then click the [ Calc ] button

E.T.A. CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( ETA ) clicked the following screen will appear

Type the required data for [ Date / Time / Distance / Speed ] Then click the [ Calc ] button

4 GREAT CIRCLE SAILING CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Great Circle ) clicked the following screen will appear

Type the required positions for [ Departure / Arrival ] for Lat / N/S Long / E/W Then click the [ Calc ] button Click the [ Plot ] button in order to calculate as a Rhumb Sailing for every 5 degrees Click the [ Print ] button to print the Rhumb Sailing

5 COMPOSITE SAILING CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Composite Sailing ) clicked the following screen will appear

Type the required positions for [ Departure / Arrival ] for Lat / N/S Long / E/W Type the required Limit Lat / N/S Then click the [ Calc ] button Click the [ Plot ] button in order to calculate as a Rhumb Sailing for every 5 degrees Click the [ Print ] button to print the Rhumb Sailing

6 SHIGHT REDUCTION CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Edit Sight Reduction ) clicked the following screen will appear

The table will be locked. In order to proceed do the following :

1. Click to select an object where the following table menu will appear

Select Object

7 FOR PLANETS

Select Planet FOR STARS

To select a Star use the Left/Right Up/Down arrows to move

10 NAUTICAL ALMANAC CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Nautical Almanac ) clicked the following screen will appear

1. Select Date 2. Click the [ Calc Nautical Almanac ] button where Sun / Moon / Planet / Stars data will be displayed 3. Click the [ Close ] button to return to main screen

ASTRO CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Astro Calculation ) clicked the following screen will appear

1. Select Date 2. Type UTC Time ( Hours / Minutes / Second ) 3. Select Star 4. Click the [ Calc] button where Sun / Moon / Planet / Star data will be displayed 5. Click the [ Close ] button to return to main screen

COMPASS ERROR CALCULATION SCREEN : When the button ( Compass Error ) clicked the following screen will appear

1. Click to select an object where the following table menu will appear 2. Select Date 3. Type UTC Time ( Hours / Minutes / Second ) 4. Select Time Azimuth Mode 5. Type required data 6. Click the [ Calc] button where the calculation data will be displayed 7. Click the [ Close ] button to return to main screen

CALCULATOR SCREEN : When the button ( Calculator ) clicked the following screen will appear

Calculator Procedure : Click each button number you wish e.g. 12029.182 m3 Click button numbers 1, 2, 0, 2, 9, ., 1, 8, 2 then click the button m3/Bbls and the result will be displayed. The procedure described above will be carried out so many times as you wish. NOTE :
